OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: ASSESSMENT:

ACTIVITIES: I. PRE-LESSON: M&M ice-breaker activity (7 minutes)


-Pupils get into groups of four and pick out one M&M candy at a time from
an M&M packet.
-Each pupil writes in at least 3 - 4 sentences on a range of tasks based on
the colour of the M&M candy he or she picks out.
RED: Sports
ORANGE: Food
YELLOW: Family
GREEN: Pets
BLUE: Music
-In the same group, they exchange their papers and talk about their friend’s
response within their respective groups. After they have done sharing,
teacher asks representative from each group to share their shoulder
partner’s response. Then, they go back to their seats.

II. LESSON DEVELOPMENT


STEP 1 (10 minutes)
-Pupils are asked to read an article of Ahmad’s webpage on page 13 silently.
-After reading, the pupils look at the questions regarding the webpage and
answer them individually.
-Then, they will compare their answers with their shoulder partners based
on the 3 questions on page 13.
(FA: Peer assessment).

STEP 2 (10 minutes)


-Then, the pupils choose a few categories for their own personal webpage
and write ideas/notes about what they can include about themselves.

Differentiation method:
-More able: Pupils are asked to write about themselves in more than 5
categories for the personal webpage.
-Less able: Pupils are asked to write about themselves in at least 3
categories for the personal webpage.

STEP 3 (3 minutes)
-Pupils are asked to check for the correct spelling of the frequently
misspelled words by looking at the list of words given by the teacher.

Differentiation method:
-More able: Pupils are also asked to check for spelling of words which are
not in the list given by the teacher.
-Less able: Pupils are asked to check for spelling of words which are in the
list given by the teacher.

III. POST-LESSON: Writing in paragraphs (30 minutes)


-The pupils are asked to write one paragraph of information based on the
categories of their choice.
-Alternative: if there is more time, have the pupils read their paragraphs to
each other within their respective groups.

Differentiation method:
-More able: Pupils are asked to write in not less than 100 words for their
paragraph.
-Less able: Pupils are asked to write in not less than 50 words for their
paragraph.
