ORDER:

Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyothi Bheema Yojana (PMJJBY)- Chandranna

Bima Scheme is one of the most important social security measures being
jointly implemented by the Central and State Governments. In view of the
untiring efforts of the field level functionaries, the scheme has been
successfully implemented during the last two years. However, there are still
quite a few cases where families of the deceased insured persons have not
been able to get insurance benefits despite the lapse of several months. The
standards stipulated for delivery of services under the scheme envisages full
payment of insurance benefits within 10 days. While delays of small
duration is understandable in view of the linkage with the insurance
companies, large scale delays is certainly not acceptable.

2. It is learnt that in many cases of delay Police Final Reports have

not been furnished by the police to the local Executive Magistrates and the
Insurance Companies. Similarly, a few delays are also occurring on account
of lack of FSL reports, Post-mortem Reports etc., In view of this,
Government felt that there is a need to ensure regular monitoring of the
scheme implementation at the district level. Accordingly, the following
Monitoring Committee is constituted for monitoring the scheme.

1. District Collector - Chairman

2. Superintendent of Police - Member
3. District Medical & Health Officer - Member
4. District coordinator of Hospital
Services , APVVP - Member
5. Superintendents of Teaching Hospital - Member
6. Project Director, DRDA - Member
7. District project Manager, SERP - Member
8. Deputy Commissioner of Labour - Member
9. Representatives of Insurance Companies concerned

3. This committee will meet in the first week of every month without fail
and undertake a detailed review of the progress of implementation of the
Scheme. The District Collector shall send minutes of the meeting to the
Government, Commissioner of Labour, Director General of Police and Chief
Executive Officer, Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty for further action.
