PRELIMINARY SECTIONS

Introduction

Emergencies; crises and disasters cannot be avoided, but their consequences can be

facilitated by planning, exercises and preparedness. Innovation means changing the way

you do things. If you’re in business, it might mean producing a new product or service;

introducing a new technology or operational process; instigating a new business model; or

just changing the way you market your products. It’s a sustainable way to raise productivity

and enjoy a higher standard of living.

The business world is always moving forward today especially when it comes to

technology. Overflowing innovations that is incorporated with technology, that cater the

millennials. Almost all of the millennials want something that is easy to use, reliable and

unique that can also be used for daily living especially in time of emergencies. And in the

technological industry, its specifications and customized designs which are new and

appealing to the possible consumers are mostly patronize by people. Most of them have

their specifications in choosing a product and they have their preferred brands already.

Price and quality are the factors that most Filipino people considered in buying. That’s why

in order to compete with their own preferred brands we’ve come up with an innovation that

can be use daily and in case of emergency.

12
PAMANTASAN NG LUNGSOD NG MUNTINLUPA

College of Business Administration

The proponents decided to put up a business namely IT-Care-Me. The business

wanted to provide our customers products that will make them have the satisfaction they

deserve. And the proponents ensure that their products, can be use easily, beneficial that

can be used for emergencies which are different from other brands.

Background of the Study

Emergencies, crises and disasters, cannot be avoided, but their consequences can

be mitigated by planning, exercises and preparedness. Although major events affect whole

society, their impact on vulnerable groups is more evident. Children and youth belong to

this category and need to be considered for special planning and education. Numerous

studies have shown the importance of early engagement of young people in planning and

preparedness efforts for disasters and emergencies. And one thing that that could go with

the preparation is to have something with you that could possibly help in time of need. So,

the proponents decided to innovate something that could be used to help everyone in time

of need especially the young children. An Emergency Lanyard by Innovative Technology

Care for Me (IT-Care-Me). A lanyard is a cord or strap worn around neck and is

commonly used by everyone in an organization are wearing lanyard. Since there are plenty

of people using them, producers and manufacturers cope by making a vast variety of these

lanyards (Sarah Shore, 2012) some lanyards mat be plain, long straps of cords, and some

maybe retractable so that the cords are not all over the place. An ID lanyard is definitely

very useful in many ways. Because they are very practical, convenient, and handy, they are

used in businesses and other organizations.

According to Barry Richardson (March, 2019 Article) from his Camps & Trails:

Best Survival and Emergency Whistles: Finding yourself in a life- threatening emergency

situation and being at a loss about what to do is not pleasant. This is why you should know

how crucial it is for you to own a whistle. Though inexpensive, it is one of the most efficient

ways to draw attention and ensure you to get help in case of emergency situations as fast

as possible.

The proponents decided to put up the business IT-Care-Me at 325 National Road

Alabang, Muntinlupa City. It is near school, offices, public markets, and mall along

national road. The aim of this business is to provide a product that can be use easily, can

be used for emergencies which are different from other brands.
