This research is about a design of the river water waste collection. Tons of solid waste
materials are thrown off to the seas, rivers, lakes, ocean harming sea life, and many more
different kinds of bodies of waters that contaminates ecosystems and making a mess on beaches.
Automation plays an important role in mass production. For this project they have manufactured
the remote worked waterway cleaning machine. As for prime objective of their project, is to
collect all the wastes which are found floating on bodies of water and to minimize labor work.
These are done by using a hardware prototype and by using a Microcontroller for controlling all
parts of a machine by using a smart phone by using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. This machine is
consisting of waterwheel driven conveyer mechanism which collect & remove the wastage,
garbage & plastic wastages from water bodies. A machine will lift some of the solid waste that
resides on the bodies of water thus reducing the contaminants on the water saving the sea living
things. The components used for this project were microcontroller (arduino) where they input all
the necessary command for the machine to execute, bluetooth module for connection, motors,
motor driver, conveyor belts that transports the wastes that were collected, battery for power
source, and a wheel for movement of the mechanism through out the water. When the device is
already connected to an android application thru bluetooth you can give sample instructions that
would be ready by the Arduino then the machine will work as it follows. They’ve concluded that
they had maximize the availability of automation and the use of hardware prototypes,
microcontroller and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for the connection thus achieving the reducing of solid
waste material from water bodies by using river waste cleaning mechanism.[1]
This research is about the Drainage system cleaner, is a machine which helps to protect
environment from different kinds of environmental hazard through the promotion waste
management by the removal of garbage from the drainage system. These wastes when not
removed end up settling in residential places where these wastes are burnt thereby causing
climate change otherwise these wastes block the drainage systems thereby causing flooding. The
machine is designed in such a way that it generates motion for its functions by itself through the
action of running water thereby cutting out the dangers of the powering the machine by other
sources of power because of the harshness of the rain on these other sources. The drainage
system cleaner has three major parts which are the Propeller, the Cleaner and the Pan all make up
for its effective functioning. Based on the findings made after the test the Drainage system
functioned well when there is maximum load. One source of major flooding is due to excessive
solid waste on bodies of water that clogs the passageway of the water. Thus, Drainage system
cleaner steps in and is found to be cost effective machine that can promote waste management,
which can take care of the garbage without human intervening during the harsh conditions of the
rain. The design of the project does not have electricity as a source of power for it cannot
withstand harsh conditions thus its individual parts harness energy from the movement flow of
the running water then transmits it into mechanical energy thus producing work. This project
reduces the environmental hazards like floods or climate change, and its more effective and more
efficient compared to the previous mechanism made. Government, constructions, industries,
companies and general public worldwide would benefit for this type of mechanism to reduce
harmful waste. After several test was conducted for this mechanism, it was found out that at the
absence of some variables like heavy winds, the propeller moved at a rate relative to the velocity
of the running water. The cleaner functioned move effectively during the heavier rains which had
more volume of running water with garbage and high velocity. The pan functioned effectively. It
moved at a rate relative to the velocity of the running water and at the rate of the propeller.[2]
