A rainy day is a day that almost everyone loves, be it a small kid, an adult or an elderly person. Rain showers
are awaited all year long. It is said that God showers his blessings on earth in the form of rain and infuses
everything and everyone with delight. It is a sight to see the trees and plants drenched in rain appearing greener
and brighter.

The clouds in the sky overcast the sun and give relief from the scorching heat on a rainy day. The weather on
this day is extremely pleasant and such weather works wonders on our senses. It fills our heart with a joyous
feeling. I just love rainy days.

Story Time: A rainy day

It was a hot and humid morning. The weather was too unbearable
that day. Birds and animals seemed completely covered with sweat.
People and children were desperately waiting for rain. Poor
gardeners were licking their parched lips in that scorching heat.

Suddenly, something unexpected happened, a miracle of God. The sky became

overcast and the clouds scudded by, like huge smoky cotton balls. The weather
soon became stormy.

Thunder roared like lions and started a shower of heavy rainfall from the sky.
The drops of the rain looked like tiny crystals. The pleasantly cold water of the
pattering raindrops quenched the thirst of the gardeners and other people.
There was howling of the wind and splashing of the water. All the people and
the birds were very happy.

Birds sang and twittered sweetly on the wet cold barks of trees. Roads turned
into small rivulets and the children were splashing and playing in the muddy,
dirty puddles. Papers floated in the water and kids started cycling all around
in the colony. People happily started cooking snacks to enjoy the beautiful
rain.

My family and I also enjoyed scrumptious snacks in our airy balcony. Soon the
clouds faded away and out came a colourful rainbow. The beautiful flowers
danced merrily and tossed their heads. The greenery looked refreshing.

Rain had turned the dreary day into a lovely one.

It was about to rain one afternoon. The sky was dark and the clouds were grey. A little boy
wanted to go outside to play. He had been a good boy and stayed indoors the whole day.
Therefore, he went out. But as soon as he got out, the rain started pouring. There was a
heavy pour of rains.

“Rain, rain, please go away. Come again another day," said the little boy.

But the rain did not go away The little boy quickly ran back into the house. He was sad and
frustrated.

Moral of the story :

Sometimes things do not always work out as we like them to be.

Ride a Cock-Horse

One fine day, a young lady wanted to go to Branbury Cross to see her sister. She was
getting ready to go for a long journey. She prepared herself for this journey.

First, she saddled up her white horse. Next, she dressed up and wore rings on her fingers.
Then, she tied tiny bells to her shoes so that the bells tinkled as she rode the horse. Once it
was done, she climbed onto the horse and rode off.

In the evening, she reached her sister’s home. She was glad that she did not fall asleep
while riding her horse. The tiny bells kept her awake and alert.

Moral of the story :

Be fully prepared for a long journey to avoid problems and disappointments. Otherwise, you
will be short of the most required things. To avoid dangers, you had better go prepared.
