BIOGRAPHICAL DATA

It is known by many that each person is unique. Each person has their own

qualities and characteristics that make them different from anybody around me. This is

how Nicole S. Babon can be distinguished; uniqueness makes the difference and it gaves

me identity.

I was born on 16 of April 1997 at Barangay Halayhay Tanza Cavite. I am the

oldest child of her beloved parents, Elizabeth Babon and Antonio Babon. I am currently

residing at Greenville Homes Subdivision, Sahud-Ulan, Tanza Cavite.

I took my primary education at Halayhay Elementary School in year 2003-2009. I

became one of the representatives in MTAP and science quiz bee. I was also a consistent

honor student. During my grade five, I became the top of their class and my last year in

elementary I became the top three of our section. I decided to continue my journey at

Amaya School of Home Industries. ASHI, by the year 2009-2013. At first I did not know

what to do in my life but when I met my best friend Micka and my other friends, I

learned to enjoy my journey as a high school student. When I reached my second year

and third year high school, I became the top three of their section and I also excelled in

Food Technology. Also in the same year, Mark Lennen and I became the representative

for chicken the boning. In my last year in high school, I became the top five of their

section and a National Certificate II passer, NCII passer.

Furthermore, I pursued my dream not just for myself but for my family as well

and enrolled in the course of Bachelor Secondary Education major in English by the year

iii
2015 at Cavite State University-CCAT Campus. In my first year, I became the secretary

of EnSoc and in my third year I also became secretary of FOLK. Lastly on my third year,

I became the President of Mutiya Salihlahi. I took my practice teaching at Amaya School

of Home Industries for three months and soon to be graduated on the 13th day of June

2019.

LETTER TO THE READERS

Dear readers,

“Life is not easy for anyone. Sometimes you don’t see the challenges on the outside, but

every single one of us has both those and everything that goes on inside as well. Give

your all. Dare to be all you can be.”- Hillary Clinton

I would like to give my deepest gratitude to the readers for giving such time in

reading my work. I hope that you will be inspired and learned from my experiences as a

Student Teacher.

This portfolio was a collection of my learning experiences as a student teacher,

my thoughts and reflections for everyday feelings and experiences and other related

topics about my Off-Campus Practice Teaching.

The purpose of this portfolio is to let you know some inevitable experiences and

situations in the real world of teaching, the ups and downs, the good and the dark side of

it, the difference between actual teaching and principles, and sorts of reasons why

becoming a teacher requires a heart with appreciation and dedication in teaching as your

weapon in dealing with students.

If you dreamed of becoming a teacher, you are free to read her everyday journal

so that you could be able to have an idea with the kind of students you will be teaching
v
soon, you will be also having an idea on how to effectively manage the classroom, the

sort of techniques and strategies that will help you in getting the interest and attention of

your future students, and the kind of profession you will be for your whole life filled with

encouragement and enjoyment while reading this portfolio. God bless!

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude and greatest appreciation to the please

behind the success of this portfolio:

Teachers in Cavite State University, for the full support and motivation that they

gave, for the strategies and skills that they partake in order for me to effectively manage

my class and become an efficient and effective teacher;

Teachers in Amaya School of Home Industries, for sharing their experiences and

knowledge in the teaching profession and to their encouragements for the pre service

teachers;

All the staffs in Amaya School of Home Industries, for their warm welcome to the

pre-service teachers and by treating me like as a real teacher in school, for the respect

they gave, and for the guidance they gave while I was under supervision;

Mr. Edison C. Cabriga, for his extend service, for his love, care and support to his

student, his dedication in teaching that motivated me to pursue excellence at work, and

for his advices and encouragement to his students, also for being an inspiration to his

student teacher and to his students whom he treated as his sons and daughters. I also want

to say how grateful I was because he helped and reminded me the things I needed to do

during my journey as a practice teacher. He really liked my father and brother in the same

time. I also wanted to say how proud I was to become as his practice teacher because of

all the things I have learned from him. He was the best cooperating teacher for me not

because he was my cooperating teacher but because I never felt pressure and he reminded

me that it was okay to commit mistakes, the important thing was I have learned from it.

vii
Mr.Ryan John A. Biares, for his everlasting support and guidance to all the

practice teachers. To always remind us the things we have to do. To all the effort he has

made for us and keeping in inspiring us to become a better teacher. For not giving up

even though we gave him lots of headaches because we did not follow all the things he

said to us.

I wanted to extend my greatest love to my family, for their love, moral and

financial support, for motivating me until I reach my dreams and be my best all times, for

being there and helping me in times of troubles, for the guidance and advices that inspires

me to be a better person, and for not giving up;

I also wanted to express my thanks to my friends and classmates BSE 401 A

English for their love and support. Especially to the PEP’s SQUAD for the friendship that

was being developed during my college years in Cavite State University, for being there

during the ups and downs, for the advices and comfort, for the laughters and tears; and

for the memories that I will never forget. Lastly, for the Team ASHI for the friendship

that was being developed during my practice teaching. They were always there when I

need help and advices when I felt that I wanted to give up; and

To Almighty God, for his unconditional love, knowledge and wisdom, strength,

and provision in accomplishing not only this portfolio but also all throughout my journey,

for the family that He has given, for the friends, for the church mates, and all the people

that he allowed me to encounter in order for me to be strong and be a better person, for

the protection and guidance, and for making everything possible.
