MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME TO FILE

COUNTER-AFFIDAVIT

Undersigned Respondent, JOEL CARPIO LIDAY, unto this

Honorable Office, most respectfully states,

1. On August 9, 2019, undersigned respondent received a

copy of the Subpoena issued by this Honorable Office directing the
undersigned to submit counter-affidavit within ten (10) days from
receipt.

2. Undersigned needs to secure the services of a counsel,

adduce evidence, and talk to possible witnesses to testify and execute
their respective sworn statements, to disprove the complainant’s
allegations. Considering that he intends to secure the services of a
lawyer to assist in the preparation of the counter-affidavit, undersigned
respondent anticipates his inability to file a counter-affidavit on August
19, 2019.

3. Consequently, undersigned respondent is constrained to

ask this Honorable Office for an additional period of ten (10) days from
August 19, 2019, or until August 29, 2019, within which to file the
counter-affidavit.

4. This motion is not interposed to delay the proceedings but is

being filed solely for the foregoing reasons.
