Chapter 3

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

This chapter analyzes the responses of the informants on the impact of academic performance
studying while working in senior high school. The main source of data was the transcribed
interviews which were analyzed one by one according to their answers, the transcriptions were
read and re-read line by-line to gain familiarity with the data. Next, the texts were manually
coded to capture the thematic impact of studying while working.

To hide and protect the anonymity of the informants, code names are assigned to them using
big/capital and in italic letter I which represents, Informant and the assigned letter in subscripts
A, B, C, D, E from which represent the five (5) informants who have participated in the in-depth
interview.

Table 2 presents the sample transcripts of the informants’ responses on the questions: How di
d you manage your time studying and working? Some responses to the questions were
not basically included in the interpretation as they are not anymore relatable with the desi
red answers to the question.
