Definition: Electrolytes are minerals that are found in the body tissues and blood in the form of
dissolved salts. As electrically charged particles, electrolytes help move nutrients into and wastes
out of the body’s cell, maintain a healthy water balance, and help stabilize the body’s acid/ base
(pH) level.
Preparation: Requires no specific preparation.
Purpose: To detect problem with the body’s electrolyte balance

Definition: Creatinine blood test measures the level of creatinine in blood. Creatinine is a waste

levels on the blood can provide your doctor with information about how well your kidneys are
working
Preparation: Creatinine blood test doesn’t require much preparation. Fasting isn’t necessary. You
can and should eat and drink the same as you normally to get an accurate result.
Purpose: To access your creatinine levels if you show signs of kidney disease.

Name of examination: Complete Blood Count

Preparation: A phlebotomist collects the sample through venipuncture, drawing the blood into
the test tube containing an anticoagulant to stop it from clotting. The sample is the transported to
a laboratory.
Purpose: Complete Blood Count are done to monitor overall health to screen some diseases, to
confirm a diagnosis of some medical conditions, and to monitor changes in the body caused by
medical treatments
