On Sunday, September 22, 2019, the Madison Police Department

began investigating numerous incidents involving the theft of

property from unlocked vehicles in the City of Madison. The

incidents occurred in the Traceland North and Tidewater

Subdivisions where U.S. currency and firearms were stolen from

the unsecured vehicles.

Investigators began following up on leads and were able to

develop a suspect vehicle. Further investigation led them to

1228 Woodell Drive in the city of Jackson. Madison

Investigators, along with members of the Jackson Police

Department, took two individuals into custody recovering one of

the firearms stolen from the vehicles in Madison.

Investigators arrested Anthony A. Johnson, age 23, of Jackson

and Randell Harris, Jr., age 21 also of Jackson. Both have been

charged with eight (8) counts of Auto Burglary and eight (8)

counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. Johnson and Randell

are being held at the Madison County Detention Center awaiting

their initial court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
