10 Fonts for a Better Website

Penmanship matters, just as fonts matter. Your font selection alone can make or break
the future of your business. If you think Word Documents are similar to Web Articles, then you
got it all wrong! While a few years back, fonts such as Comic Sans and Papyrus used to be
cool. Now, they’re the biggest design sin one can ever make! But if you don’t want to limit
yourself with the common Arial, Tahoma and Verdana combination, why not try out these 10
awesome fonts that are just professional looking in their own way?

Oswald
While perfect for Page Titles and Headers, Oswald also offers that unique contrast
between two types of fonts, to give just the right amount of emphasis without having to edit the
Font Style. This Google font is best paired with Serif fonts such as Garamond and Playfair
Display.

Francois One
Another Serif font similar to Oswald is Francois One. It has that bold yet antique vintage
look perfect for those who desire to portray a more regal brand. This is best used for Headers
and Page Titles. Don’t use it with similar-looking fonts but rather those that can provide contrast
and depict balanced view for readers.

Great Vibes
It may be much different than our previous choices, but Great Vibes offers a fresh
handwriting styled font for those who are engaged in creative services. This is mostly used by
those in the Wedding Industry, the Fashion and Design Environment, as well as bloggers who
want to give their readers a refreshing and artistic look.
Bigshot One
Want something that could effortlessly steal the show? Try out this Sans Serif Display
Font from Google. This is best used in combination with fonts such as Droid Sans and Roboto.
This definitely displays a lot more curve and creativity, but still maintain that professional aura.

Playfair Display SC
Are you fond of writing every heading in all caps, just to get that intensity? Well, here’s a
unique twist that would suit your taste. While others are just screaming for attention, this type
easily landed Magazine Covers and other publications because of its elegant display. It goes
perfectly with average fonts such as Arial and Calibri. Never EVER combine it with similar-
looking fonts. Variety is key in typography.

Roboto Condensed
While we all love Arial, we can definitely agree that Roboto Condensed looks more
elevated. This font is used for paragraphs, captions, etc. rather than the flashy headings.
However, we love this style because of its simplicity and effectiveness in getting the job done.

Droid Serif
If the previous font offers a counterpart to Arial, this is definitely version 2.0 of our old
time favorite Times New Roman. In terms of visibility, Droid Serif gives a comparative
advantage to reader. It’s often used to complement Droid Sans or other Sans font. It may not be
as attractive as a heading, but it can deliver in terms of usability and function.

Poiret One
Here’s another elegant looking font that can be used in contrast with heavy headers and
titles. While its thin stroke automatically deletes it for Headline suggestions, it can be a smart
option for subtitles, captions and tag line text.
Englebert
It may be a bit unusual than all the others, but Englebert just exudes that fun,
effervescent vibe that not every font could replicate. Though not as formal, it can be used by
creative and digital agencies for quotes and emphasized text in their websites.

Graduate
Here’s another one worth mentioning. The Graduate font has that formal University feel
in it that you would notice in most jersey outfits. It can be a great twist to those who are into
sports and other school-related businesses.

Pragati Narrow
Lastly, we want to highlight something similar to the Arial Narrow typeface. It’s simple,
formal and professional. Because of the three factors, you can use it for anything and it wouldn’t
look out of place. Using it with a Serif font would best fit for this style.
