Just like the Psalmist exalted, we are called to proclaim the joy of Christ; any�me,
anywhere.
Every Jesus youth is a missionary. In the journey of our life, some people lose their
missionary zeal while some others hold on to it and con�nue ministering earnestly.
Kerala Campus ministry has launched the project Mission 2020 with the aim of
ensuring that there is at least one person who knows about Christ in every campus.
As part of this, we have launched many projects and are planning to do many more.
Through these ini�a�ves, we are fulfilling our responsibility towards our missionary
call.
Kerala Campus Conference will be a gathering of such people who do their
mission by proclaiming Jesus in various campuses. And it will be a gathering of
campus youth from around 350 campuses across Kerala. KCC will be a pla�orm
where youngsters can share the joy of the Gospel and celebrate their missionary
call.
The theme of the Conference has been set as 5 loaves and 2 fishes. Just like the
li�le boy who gave his 5 loaves and 2 fishes to Jesus, we too are called to submit
ourselves en�rely to Christ. You never know how Jesus is planning to transform your
barrenness to an overflow of graces!
KCC'19 has been flooding the WhatsApp statuses of every campus youth for the
past two months. As we approach the big day, the prepara�ons are going on in full
swing. The hard work and dedica�on of the people behind the scene are
unmatched. (Always the best for our Lord!)
Through this conference, we are going to celebrate and share the happiness of
our call to do Christ's mission and also mo�vate others to do the same.

Prepping up for KCC
Fresher's Challenge
The beginning of the new academic year
witnessed many seniors spreading the love of
God in an innova�ve way. They spent some �me
with their juniors and shared their God experi-
ence. And of course, how can we forget the
selfies!
KCC Backpacking
What can be more exci�ng to a JY campus leader
than to travel to a different campus and spread
the joy of Christ? Many of our leaders travelled to
the 7 subregions with the colourful KCC invita�on
cards!

Campus Cross
Campus Cross was an ini�a�ve of the Intercession
ministry. Core teams visited their mission
campuses and prayed to always remind them-
selves of their missionary call and to gain more
souls for Christ.

KCC Intercession day and

Campus bread
July 19 was celebrated as KCC Intercession day.
The students gathered in their respec�ve
campuses to fast and pray for KCC. They also
re-lived the experinces of the early Chris�ans by
sharing the food together. (Acts 2:42)

Kairos August Edi�on

The August edi�on of Kairos contains exci�ng
Campus oriented ar�cles.
Campus Click
KCC'19 is all about crea�vity. Various colleges
sent in their crea�ve videos. The videos show-
cased their vibrant prayer groups. Some colleges
even put up interes�ng videos focusing on our
theme.

Media workshop
The workshop brought together those who love
working magic behind the camera. The work
shop helped them to polish their talents and gear
up to be part of the KCC'19 media team.

Volunteers Training
The volunteers training was held on Aug 2nd and
Aug 3rd. The program gathered many enthusias-
�c youngsters with a sevice zeal for KCC'19.

Group Leaders training

July 28th and July 29th brought together a bunch
of leaders, chosen to take up the task of leading
our par�cipants. The group leaders received
ample training on how to be the glue of the
group.

Intercession Radio
Another ini�a�ve of the intercession ministry is
the broadcast of daily radio clips. These videos for more
are circulated to all groups, thereby helping
everyone pray innova�vely for KCC'19.
 Backpacking Experience

KCC Backpacking, for me, was really an

opportunity to be formed in Christ by
visiting and interacting with the elders and
pioneers of the movement. I was able to
meet and have fellowship with other JYs in
the movement. Travelling is one of my
interests and to have enjoyed it with Christ
and to have experienced his divine provi-
dence was really touching to me.

Mission 2020
Every Jesus Youth is a missionary.
Campus ministry has been a training
ground for missionary disciples since its
forma�on. To focus once again on our
du�es and responsibili�es as a mission-
ary, Kerala Campus Ministry has paved
the way for yet another vibrant and
exci�ng project - Mission 2020! The
name which is engraved in the hearts
and minds of every Jesus Youth campus
minister.
Mission 2020 is the brainchild of Kerala
Campus Ministry, with the vision and
mission of having at least one person for
witnessing our Lord in each campus. By
the end of the year 2020, Campus Minis-
try dreams of having the presence of at
least one Jesus Youth in every campus
across Kerala.
The Launch
Mission 2020 was launched during the
Jesus Youth Kerala Conference (JYKC) in
December 2018.
About five thousand Jesus Youth from all
over Kerala jubilantly witnessed the
launch of this great mission at St.
Thomas College, Pala. Since then, there
has been a wide range of other ini�a-
�ves to accomplish this dream.
KCC is the communion of campus
youth who wishes with hope, the
presence of the kingdom of God in
their campuses.
May your presence, friendly
interac�ons and loving services
make KCC a Joyful experience. How
can I convey the Christ whom I have
met, heard and experienced in the
campuses? How can I improve my
spiritual life through my day to day
experiences? Such beau�ful themes
and subjects can be seen, heard and
experienced during KCC.
Get ready to enjoy and don't
forget to bring your five Loaves and
two Fishes with you. Let's celebrate
KCC and ignite our campuses with
the Holy Spirit.

Campus Full�mers
A year apart for Christ? Seems impossible, but
meet the six warriors who have made the
impossible, possible! Albert Babu, Chris�na
Thomas, Thejus Thomas, Bimal Koshy, Lidiya
Thersa Pius and Leenet K J have been chosen as
campus full�mers for this year. Their prime
area of focus will be a set of chosen colleges,
which through their efforts and with God's
grace will be upli�ed as Model campuses.

Beyond Borders
Stepping out of our comfort zones and taking
up the challenge of spiritually adop�ng a
mission campus is what Beyond borders is all
about.Every Jesus youth is called to be a
missionary and this project adds to the mission-
ary zeal of our campus leaders. Each Core Team
has specially chosen as a reach out coordinator
with the task of making this venture frui�ul.
Subregional Gatherings
Brainstorming, Dreaming and Praying.
Oh yes, Gatherings! In order to make this
project a reality, gatherings were held in every
subregion. The campus ministers came togeth-
er to chug the wheels of Mission 2020 further.
Gree�ngs! As we gather for
celebra�ng KCC, let us, like the
boy who offered 5 loaves and 2
fish, submit our talents, devo-
�on, �me, effort etc. to Christ,
to be blessed and mul�plied
(John 6:1-14). I pray and wish
that KCC be a new spiritual
spring�me for Campuses
across Kerala and lead to a
healthy harvest of Encounter,
Discipleship and Mission

Extraordinary Missionary Month, October 2019

Pope Francis has set October 2019 as an Extraordi-

nary Missionary Month to foster greater awareness
of Missio ad gentes and to animate the missionary
transforma�on of Church life and pastoral ac�vity.

Four Dimensions

Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congrega-

�on for the Evangeliza�on of Peoples, outlined four
dimensions “or ways” to live out the Extraordinary
Missionary Month:

1. A personal encounter with Jesus Christ alive in his

Church.

2. The witness of missionary saints from around the

world.

3. Forma�on for Missio ad gentes – human, spiritu-

al, biblical, theological and cateche�cal.

4. Missionary charity.

This extraordinary missionary month is a golden

opportunity to re-examine the missionary roots of,
and the contribu�ons to the mission.

Cherthala Calling!
Oct 5th (12 pm) to Oct 8th (2 pm) will
witness the gathering of all plus one
students at Naipunya, Cherthala for the
next edi�on of JOY conference.
