CV of Professor Dr. Dusit Kruangam
Founder and Managing Director of Thai Solar Future Co., Ltd.

•1988 Ph.D. of Electrical Engineering (Solar Cells), Osaka University, Japan.

•1988-2005 Professor at Chulalongkorn University.
•Out Standing Research of Engineering, National Research Council of
Thailand.
•Board member and executive of solar companies (Solartron, Ekarat Solar).
•Worldclass Designer and installer of PV solar systems more than 10 MW
including MW solar farms, solar roofs, stand alone systems.
• Holding 2 USA Patents.
•Board member of several institutes (NECTEC, Rajamangala University of
Technology Srivichaya, Renewable Energy Club of FTI).
What is a solar farm?
A solar farm is a large electrical power generation plant
that uses solar energy as energy source. In Thailand, the
ministry
i i off energy has
h a promotion i program in i which
hi h a
solar farm can sell electricity to utilities (MEA, PEA, EGAT)
at a special tariff.
tariff

Tariff Price is about 11 Baht/kWh consists of:

• Normal Tariff
About 3.3 Baht/kWh with annual increase rate (no limitation of
Years)

and
• Fix at 8.0
8 0 Baht/kWh for 10 Years
Advantages of Investment in
Solar Farm in Thailand

1. Investment is required at the construction period only. Very small

O&M expenses.
2. No fuel cost , because uses only solar light.
3. No fuel. No need to worry about fuel.
4. Marketing is not necessary, because long term contract of PPA is
signed between solar farm and MEA, PEA, EGAT.
5. Buyer is MEA, PEA, EGAT., and ministry of energy with high price.
6. Least risk. Solar modules have long life more than 30 years,
normally warranty 20-25 years.
7. Welcomed by local people.
9. Corporate tax, import duty are waved by BOI Program.
Privileges
g from BOI for Solar Farm Projects
