The Business Concept and the Business Model

Background of Proposed Business Idea

Opportunity Seeking

The company doesn’t want to settle for less. They want to create new ideas

that will help the project bloom because in the business world, having a business is

different from being an entrepreneur. You need to be risky, but in a reasonable way.

The members think that having cleaning services, printing press and school supplies

retail is beneficial not only for the company, but also for the customers. They took the

opportunity of solving three problems at once while profiting from it.

Opportunity Screening

The proponents observed their environment. Through this, they were able to

see the struggles of students when they are in school. They have no printers when

they need to pass another set of research or activities. Another one is that, most of

the students always borrow pens from their classmates and ask for papers when

they are required to do something.

One of the problems that the members of the company also observed is that

the students don’t want to clean their classroom or area anymore. Most of them

escape or some of them only clean when there’s a teacher.

The proponents think that the cleaning services should be offered by group so

the cost won’t be too expensive.

Seizing Opportunities

The company considers the fact that there might be competitions. Knowing

that there are some classrooms that have printers, they might be less customers. But

the members think that it won’t be much of a problem. Since there are about 563

students in ANSHS, the company members think that it would be a smooth business,

especially that they are targeting students who have the problems that they

observed.

Since this is a business, the company thought of something that might help to

satisfy their customers. After 2 months of consecutively availing to their cleaning

services, the group that availed it will have a freebie of their choice. The choices

include 1 one whole yellow pad, 2 long pads, 4 pens, 2 correction tapes, 1 marker or

6 pencils.

Business Description

The Business is named Room Service since they are giving printing service

and cleaning services. They are going to pursue a partnership with Trinity Marketing

Inc. since this is the retail store that sells products with the cheapest price in Manila.

In some cases, there will be times that the company is gonna need an immediate

supply of materials. For these instances, they are going to partner with Charlies

Bazaar.

The Business Goals: Vision, Mission, Objectives and Performance Targets

Objectives

-Establish sustainable business by the end of the first year and so on

-To help students focus instead of thinking where to print their outputs and get their

resources

-To help students have a comfortable study environment

-Produce net profits

Goals

-Provide cleaning services that will help the students do their task at school

-Give convenience to the students by having a printing press and school supplies

retail inside the school premise

Keys to Success

-Determination of the Business Proponents

-Continuation of business inventory every week

-Consistency

Problems

-Most students nowadays always lose or unconsciously leave their study materials at

home, so they buy materials every morning or lunch break. But some of them no

longer have the time to buy outside of the school premise, especially now that the

principal prohibits going outside during school hours and letting tricycle drivers go

inside the school to give what they requested to buy. Some of them don’t have

printers at home. They will have the chance to print their output in school.

-Some of the students don’t clean their room when they are required to, specifically

when they are cleaners.

Executive Summary

Business name: Room Service

Room Service is a business that offers cleaning services, printing press and

school supplies retail. It will give comfort and convenience to the students due to the

fact that they will not have any trouble finding for a place to print their researches,

assignments or activities and place to buy their resources for studying. It is located at

12-Pythagoras, which is located at the Senior High School building. The location has

a close proximity to the other sections and the place and ambiance of the room is

customer friendly. It is open Monday through Thursday, specifically when there are

classes.

The project proponents include the project designers, developers and

investors named Kevin Bihasa, John Edgar Cabatan, Daryll Jake De Castro, Ailii

Legayo, KC Quematon and Jeorge Muriel Tiansay.

The target of the business are the students of Aurora National Science High

School. Through this business, the students will have the chance to learn

comfortably and conveniently. They will have the chance to have more time in doing

their requirements by availing to our cleaning services. Instead of cleaning the

classroom when they are assigned to, they can spend a sum of money and the crew

will do the job. The students can also print in our printing press without the hassle of

going out of the school or thinking about getting late in passing their requirements.

They can also buy school supplies at our retail store. There will be no trouble when a

student is required to pass a printed output immediately.

The prices will range from 10 pesos as the cheapest and 100 pesos as the

most expensive in the cleaning services. This will be offered by group. While in the
printing press, the printing of textual document has a cost of 1 peso when they

provide the bond paper, but 2 pesos when the printing press provides the bond

paper. When it is colored, the price ranges from 6 to 10 pesos depending on the

size. In the school supplies retail, the cost ranges from 6-46 pesos.

The project will need 370 pesos as a starting budget for the cleaning services

and the company won’t have any problems with the printing press, except for the ink.

The starting budget for this is 800 pesos for the first 2 sets of inks. For the school

supplies retailing, the starting budget would be 800 pesos. There will be a weekly

inventory so that the company can monitor the state of the business. Room Service

will get a school permit in order to legalize their business.

Organizational Structure/Set-up

There will be a rotating set of work for the project’s crew. The crew will have

specific work days and day-offs. For the first week and third week of every month,

Ailii, Kevin and KC are appointed to all of the work in the business. For the second

week and fourth week of every month, Edgar, Muriel and Daryll are appointed to do

the business works.

The Business Proponents

The project proponents include the project designers, developers and

investors named Kevin Bihasa, John Edgar Cabatan, Daryll Jake De Castro, Ailii

Legayo, KC Quematon and Jeorge Muriel Tiansay.

The resource mobilizers and financial bankers are all of the business

proponents. The technology providers are also all of them while the technology

applicators include Ailii Legayo and Edgar Cabatan. For the governance and top
management, Muriel Tiansay and KC Quematon are the ones who are responsible.

And last but not the least, Daryll De Castro and Kevin Bihasa are the main

proponents of the operating and support team.

The Target Customers and Main Value Proposition

The target customers of the business are the students of Aurora National

Science High School. Through this business, the students will have the chance to

learn comfortably and conveniently. They will have the chance to have more time in

doing their requirements by availing to our cleaning services. Instead of cleaning the

classroom when they are assigned to, they can spend a sum of money and the crew

will do the job. The students can also print in our printing press without the hassle of

going out of the school or thinking about getting late in passing their requirements.

There will be no trouble when a student is required to pass a printed output

immediately. They will also have no trouble in finding for their school supplies

because they can buy immediately at our retail store.

Freebies

The company thought of something that might help to satisfy their customers.

After 2 months of consecutively availing to their cleaning services, the group that

availed it will have a freebie of their choice. The choices include 1 one whole yellow

pad, 2 long pads, 4 pens, 2 correction tapes, 1 marker or 6 pencils.

Market Demand and Supply, Industry Dynamics and Macro Environmental

Factors

The business proponents estimated that the market demand for the cleaning

service will be high. The estimated specific number of people who are going to avail
for the cleaning services is 2/3 of the population while the estimated population of

the students who are going to use the printer is 4/5.

The supply for the paper in the printing business will be known through the

inventory every week. As for the place where and when to get the supply is not a

problem. There are so many retail stores in our municipality that sells papers and ink

for an affordable price, so it won’t be a problem for this business.

Competitions

The Business doesn’t have any specific competition on the cleaning services.

This can be considered as their advantage, since they will have no competition on

the sales.

On the other hand, the printing business have many competitions if the other

businesses pursue this kind of business. The only problem is that the other rooms

have printers and the business founders can’t control it when the target consumers

print outside the school and not avail the cleaning services.

Opportunity Seeking

The company doesn’t want to settle for less. They want to create new ideas

that will help the project bloom because in the business world, having a business is

different from being an entrepreneur. You need to be risky, but in a reasonable way.

The members think that having both cleaning services and printing press is

beneficial not only for the company, but also for the customers. They took the

opportunity of solving two problems at once while profiting from it.

the company wants to have a profit of in a span of ten months. The profit will be

monitored on the weekly inventory. The total expected population that will avail the

cleaning services is 2/3 (0.67) =378 people while in printing press and school

supplies is 4/5 (0.8)=454 out of 568 total population

The total investment of the company for this project is 9480 pesos.

The total sales that the business will have is:

pesos

4 groups availed the cleaning service + printing press+supplies (All)=1,861,030

pesos

Risks and Contingencies

The risks of the business are when the students don’t avail the cleaning

services, don’t biu school supplies and not use the printer at all. The risk is that the

company is putting up a large amount of money and they’re not sure if their gonna
get the expected return. The company is also not sure is the sales and profit will be

the same as the estimated amount. It is just a form of assumption.

If their business didn’t anchored according to plan, there will be no major

problems since the cleaning services is the one with the most profit, the other

products and services offered can be removed. If the company sees that offering

many things gives you more profit and helps people more, they might consider an

expansion of services.

Financial Source

The project will be funded by all of the members of the company. With an

investment of 2100 on the first week, the company can start their business. They will

have a maintenance money of 1500 pesos every 2-3 months to ensure that the

products and and services offered have high quality.

Environmental and Regulatory Compliance

Since the company is founded by students, the company is going to get

school permit from the principal in order to prove that they are running their business

on legal terms and to prove their trustworthiness to their customers.

Capital Structure and Financial Offering: Returns and Benefits to Investors,

Financiers, and Partners

Since all of the members of the company invested and financed the business,

they are all going to get some returns. On the assumed value of profit, all of them are

going to divide all of it to 6 in order to get the return of the money that they invested.

This is also the money that they will be using for marketing.
Marketing Strategies/Analysis

Products and Services Feature/Design

L565 Multi-Function Printer. The cleaning materials are brand new and durable. The

company promise to always do their best to clean every waste and dust in the

classrooms. The school supplies will have high quality and cheap prices.

Marketing Strategies

The company is going to distribute flyers all throughout the school. They are

also going to build a social media for the business. The email address will be

RoomService@gmail.com and the customers can also contact them through the

mobile number 09192665116. They are going to make monthly games in their site

and social media. This will be a way to attract more audience.

Location/ Proximity

The location needs to be convenient to the students and the surrounding

communities. As our days become busier, with less free time, we tend to choose

stores that are the most convenient. The more convenient the location, the more

time that we have for ourselves. Thus, having the store inside the classroom of 12

Pythagoras will be beneficial to the students inside the school premise.
