THE IMPORTANCE OF LIBRARY

Library is very important for us. Because, it is the way to get education. And actually,
education is the root of a nation's civilization. Now, education has become one of the basic needs
that every person must have to live life. And to get it, there are many ways we can do. Among them
through the library. By library we can get various sources of information, besides that there are also
many other benefits that we can get through the library.

The first benefit that we can get from the library is to increase our insight. The existence
of a library for the community, especially students, is able to increase our insight, it does not mean
that knowledge will increase only because of the existence of a library. But, because of the books in
it that we can read. Because learning at lesson time is not enough for us to support our insight. In
addition to limited material, the time or learning process is also limited. So, from reading, that we
can find from library, we can add our knowledge.

In addition, libraries can also be cheap and fast information centers. The library provides
important information that will provide new knowledge and insight for us. We can get a variety of
this information in a cheap and fast way because we only have to spend time coming to the library
and choosing books according to the type of information we need cheaply and quickly.

In 2015, according to a survey examined by UNESCO, Indonesian people's reading interest

was 0.001 percent, in other words, of 1,000 people only 1 were fond of reading! Of course this is
very worrying for us and our next generation, moreover the young generation today prefers to
spend their free time going to malls, cafes, watching movies or in front of their smart phone screens
rather than just spending time going to the library to read books. In fact, if we want to go to the
library we don't have to spend a lot of money to buy expensive items, a cup of starbucks, movie
tickets, and internet quota. Because by going to the library, of course there are many benefits that
we can get to fill our spare time so that we can benefit us.

That are some of the importances of library for us in addition to being able to increase
our knowledge, become a cheap and fast information center, and a place to spend our spare time, of
course there are many more benefits of library for us. And don't be shocked if you hear that in Japan
the library is more popular than shopping centers, because people there really like going to the
library. Books are a window to the world that we can find in libraries around you. Then, are we
included in those 999 people?
