Introduction

Sex education helps people gain the information, skills, and motivation to have a healthy decision
about sex and sexuality. It is the instruction of issues relating to human sexuality, including emotional
relations and responsibilities, human sexual anatomy, sexual activity, sexual reproduction, age of consent,
reproductive health and rights, the safe sex, birth control, and sexual abstinence. The sex education may

also be described as “sexuality education”, which means that it encompasses education about all aspects

of sexuality which including the information about family planning and the reproduction. It is also gives

information about the all aspects of one’s sexuality which are the body image, sexual orientation, sexual

pleasure, values, decision - making, communication. dating to another individual which is leading to the
relationships as expected, then the sexual transmitted infection, and birth control methods.

Sex education is important. We all know that those students who embrace formal sex education in
schools as well as in home are shown to first have the sexual intercourse later than the students who
have not had the sex education. It Is essential that the children must be aware what is sex first, because it
can help to prevent students from future encounters with sexually transmitted infections ( STI s ) and
unwanted pregnancies.

The overall goal of sexual health education is to provide young people with the knowledge and skils
to promote their health and well-being as they mature into sexually healthy adults ( SIECUS, Guidelines,
2004 ). The parents, family members, community, and faith based headers should have the opportunity
to provide input into sexual health education programs. Even though sex education may shook the mind
of the children still the parents should be an eye opener and must guide them by giving information that
sex education can prevent teenage pregnancy.

Counter Argument

Nowadays, sex scenes are heavily portrayed in some movies and TV shows where the teenagers are

watching. Even on the internet, there’s a lot of sensitive videos that you may see. Sex scenes in the media

are portrayed as casual, harmless, and seemed to bring no serious consequences, which the children will
be getting curious until they are addicted on it.

Your Argument
There are many sexually abused children who did not come to light and still hiding on the dark
because the government authority did not pay attention on them. Thus, implementing sex education can
decrease the rate of child sexual abuse and providing a way out for the children and teenagers ( Carroll,
2010 ).

According to Stephen Simpson (cited in “Teaching sex education to children with learning

disabilities,” 2007). Those that have learning difficulties are at higher risks at getting sexually abused. The

children should be aware what is sex because sex that have shown in the social media or in the television
can fooled the children minds.

This shows that sex education is capable of preventing children and teenagers from victim of sexual
abuse as well as being the culprit. They felt that those information provided from the education was able
to help the teenagers to prevent the teenage pregnancy. ( Ostro and Randall, 2008 ). Consequently, sex
education can be concluded the aids teenagers in their sexuality and related issues at present and in the
future.

Conclusion

Children and teenagers must know the importance of sex education. Also they need good and
correct information by the parents what really sex is, the sexual relationships, and various other related
issues in order to make a right decision for their present and future. They should understand what will
happen next if they misinterpret the sex and become dangerous. The implementation of sex education
will be able to prepare them properly.
