 How to protect your server from denial of service attack

If a group of internet users want to attack your server. They determine a specific time to
begin the attack and they take your sever out of service by consuming its resources in
replaying to high and continues number of ping messages, and the sever becomes
incapable to do its primary work (out of service)

Each user ping the server continually by using this command

For testing I pinged my DSL router

To protect your server or router from this attack you must configure server group
policy or the router Access Control List ACL to don’t reply ICMP echo request or to
deny ICMP protocol

 Using Wireshark to monitor and trace network traffic

Start capture

You can monitor all protocols and its content in the network
