A4 for write ups (please justify the paragraph/sentence)
- use 1.15 spacing
- with border using 1 inch left and right, ½ inch top and bottom
A3 for piping layouts

PROJECT TITLE: Sizing of Water Supply for a “establishment”

CHAPTER I. INTRODUCTION

- about the establishment (include location)

- about the design reference (ex. NPCP)

CHAPTER II. DESIGN CRITERIA

A. Water Requirement
- gallons per capita / day

B. Water Resources
- short discussion about the water service provider (ex. MWSS, Maynilad)
- choose one water service provider
- include information regarding available pressure for the location of the building

C. Gravity Type System (OPTIONAL)

- sizing of overhead tanks
- sizing of transfer pumps

D. Demand Load
- total of fixtures to be use
- equivalent Water Fixture Unit (WFU)

CHAPTER III. PLUMBING LAYOUT

A. Drawing of:
i. Piping Layout
- Floor plan view
- Section view (showing the height for main supply)
ii. Section Layout
- drawing that shows the configuration of fixture in a certain room that also give the
details of height for the fixture supply

CHAPTER IV. PIPE SIZING

A. Main Supply and B. Branches

i. Water Meter
- obtain information from water service provider of the following:
a. water meter diameter (mm)
b. flow (L/s)
- if not available obtain standard L/s from codes/standards just put the
citation
- use chart A-1 of Revised NPCP
ii. Deman Load
- same with what is in the Chapter 2

iii. Minimum Pressure at Highest Fixtures

- choose whether:
103.42 kPa for flushometer or 55.16 kPa for flush-tank

iv. Static Pressure

- total meters of height from water source up to highest fixture
- after obtaining elevation multiply it by 9.79 the result will be in KPa

Ps = 𝜹h where: Ps = Static Pressure (kPa)

𝛿 = 9.81 KN/𝑚3 , specific weight of water
h = elevation in meters

v. Developed Length
- total length of pipe (from water source to the highest fixtures)
+ (plus)
- fittings (use Table A-2 of Appendix A of Revised NPCP)

vi. Available Friction Loss

- use formula:

AFL = AP - WM - MPHF - Ps

where: AFL = Available Friction Loss

AP = Available Pressure
WM = Water Meter FL
MPHF = Minimum Pressure at Highest Fixtures
Ps = Static Pressure

- after obtaining the developed length and available FL, use formula:

AFL / dev. length = FL / 30.4 m (kPa/m) *it should be in (L/s)*

- to convert use Chart A-2 or A-3
vii. Pipe Diameter
- using available FL per 30.4 m and demand load, use chart A-5 whichever is applicable
to trace the equivalent size of pipe to be used

CHAPTER V. APPENDICES

A. Catalog of Fixtures, Fittings, Pipes and Valves used

B. References
