2. Survey about strand choices in Senior High School.

According to Forges (2018), the most chosen factor in choosing strand based from the survey is parent’s decision
with the percentage of 36 followed by own decision with the percentage of 32 while the other factors that complete the
100% is future career and peers influence. Parent’s choice is the biggest factor that influence a student in making a
decision. Students are more likely to follow their parent’s choice because without their encouragement and support,
students will be reluctant to pursue a strand. Also, students consider their own decision in choosing strand because
students know themselves more than others, students are the one who are certainly more qualified to figure out what’s
best for them.

3. Factors that affect strand choice.

The study suggests that the closer the match of personality to job, the greater the satisfaction, it emphasizes the
accuracy of self-knowledge and career information necessary for career decision making (Holland, 2017). Choosing
strand’s main goal is to lead a student into a type of job that best fits a student in order for him/her to be satisfied. It is
best to choose the strand that suits the student’s interests, skills and talents. Knowing one self’s personality will result
in a pleasant outcome in which student will find the most comfortable fit.
