Intentional Injury:
1. Homicide- the deliberate and awful
killing one person by one another or
murder
2. Sexual assault- is an act in which a
person intentionally sexually touches
another person without the person’s
consent or coerces or physically
forces a person to engage in a sexual
act against their will.
3. Neglect and Abandonment- Neglect
which leads to physical harm through
with holding of services necessary to
maintain health and well- being.
Abandonment including desertion or
willful forsaking of an elderly person
or the withdrawal or neglect of duties
and obligations owed an elderly
person by a caretaker or other
person.
4. Suicide- is an act of intentionally
causing one’s death.
5. Collective violence- can be placed on
a continuum, with one extreme
involving the spontaneous behavior
of people who react to situations
they perceive as uncertain,
threatening, or extremely attractive.
Riots and random youth gang fights
are example of it.
Unintentional Injury
1. Choke- have severe difficulty in
breathing because of constricted
of obstructed throat or a lack of
air.
2. Poisoning- the fact of being
affected by or contaminated with
poison
3. Falls- an event which results in a
person coming to rest
inadvertently on the ground or
fall or other lower level.
4. Fire and burn Injuries- cause to
undergo combustion or being
destroyed by fire.
5. Drowning- die through
submersion in and inhalation of
water.
D. APPLICATION
The teacher will divide the class into 2
groups. Each group will present a 2
minute role play regarding:
Group 1: Intentional Injury
Group 2: Unintentional Injury
(2 minutes each group)
