Illusion of the Reality

(Mass Deception of Max Horkheimer)

Truth is mostly often used to mean a being in accord with facts or reality. Truth can also
be used in modern context that refers to an idea of "truth to self," or authenticity. But how can we
identify what is truth? Is there really an absolute truth? According to Martin Heidegger, the
original meaning and essence of "Truth" in Ancient Greece was unconcealed or revealing. On
this insight, the conception of truth as correctness is later derived from the concept's original
essence, a development Heidegger traces to the Latin term "Veritas." Language and words are a
means by which humans convey information to one another and the method used to determine
what is a "truth" is termed a criterion of truth. Today, many people are embracing a cultural
relativism that denies any type of absolute truth. A good question to ask people who say, “There
is no absolute truth” is, “Are you absolutely sure of that?” If they you say “yes,” they have made
an absolute statement which implies the existence of an absolute. They are saying that the very
fact there is no absolute truth is the one and only absolute truth. But if we will view everything,
there are no absolute truths that define reality. But then again, it all changed when people used
social media as a venue of deception.
Today, several crimes were taken and
committed from social media, whether it's from
Facebook, Twitter, etc. Example is when you
are giving your own opinion or perception to
something. It seems that individual’s taste and
preference is lost because there is an established
concept of truth or the generally accepted truth
by the people and if you go against them this is
the start of changing what you really believing
in. It is very hard to defend truth when we are in
an era where everyone has their own basis of
facts and truth. We can actually conclude that
technology disrupted the truth.
The news media has a gift taking the truth and dissecting it support their way of thinking.
You will hear partial truths or nothing at all that goes against their stances. Most of the tv
advertisements, news only shows sides that supported their arguments but ignored the rest.
Showed repeatedly stories, clips and sound bites that made it seem different than is actually was.
They need to show all sides of the story and not one side and they need to report what is going
on in the world and not ignore it because it shows things that expose their flawed way of thinking
or does not back their arguments. If it is not the whole truth with unbiased reporting then it is
fake news.
