Grade 7 – ecosystem

Guide
Card Ecosystem
The Ecosystem is composed of all living things interacting
with one another and with their environment (With the non-living
things). It can be large, such as an ocean, wetland or forest. It
can also be small, like a pond, tree or a rotting log. The word
Ecosystem was coined by the British plant ecologist Sir Arthur
George Tansley to show that a habitat is a system in which its
biotic (Living things) and abiotic (Non-living things)
components constantly interacts

Content Standard
 With this strategic intervention material students will
learn the interaction of organism with each other and with
their environment to survive

Learning Competencies

 Differentiate biotic from abiotic components

 Describe the ecological relationship found in an ecosystem
 Predict the changes in one population on the other
population in the ecosystem
 Predict the effect of changes in abiotic factors in the
ecosystem

Main task

 To learn the different kind of interaction in the ecosystem

and to know the difference of the biotic and abiotic
components
Sub task
Activity 1: Differentiate biotic from abiotic components.
