Contrast
The difference of colors in the building adds a
certain emphasis to its parts such as the
windows and vertical elements. Thus, the
principle contrast is present in the photo above.

Restraint
This structure falls under the definition of
restraint, for it is simple and minimalistic. It is
straight to the point, without any unnecessary
curves or eye-catching visual presentations, and
completes its purpose.

Repose
The minimalistic elements present in the building
above, such as the use of neutral color palettes
and symettrical properties highlight the
structure’s simplicity and repose.
Emphasis 

When one sees the UST Main building, one’s
eyes are naturally drawn to the historical statues
and sculptures on top because it emphasizes the
main building’s importance and impact. The
principle of emphasis is present here, as it is
distinct and unique only to the UST Main
Building.

Hierarchy
It depicts hierarchy because there is a certain
point that is higher than the others—in this case,
the statue and cross—that one would recognize
as important.
The Rosarium Harmony
Harmony is achieved in this structure
because of the complimenting colors and the
structure’s arrangement. They harmonize
together, forming a structure that is visually
pleasing to the eye.

Vitality
This structure can be associated with the
principle of vitality because it is distinct and far
from your normal plain building. It is eye-
catching and its unique way of presentation, with
the help of organic elements screams vitality.


Balance
The symmetrical way the windows and columns
were constructed depicts the principle of
balance in architecture. The number of windows, Santisimo Rosario Parish
pillars and columns are in equilibrium.

Definition
The chapel was built by distinguishing factors
such as the symmetric windows and pillars. It is
uniquely defined by these materials, therefore it
stands under the principle of definition.
Strength
The entrance is clearly recognizable in this
structure, and just by looking one can tell it has a
strong foundation. Such traits are characteristics
of the principle strength.
