I. Objectives

At the end of discussion the student will be able to:


a. define Rhyme Scheme;
b. identify Rhyme Scheme of a given Poem;
c. label a given poem with the appropriate Rhyme Pattern.

A. Preparatory Activities:
 Opening Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance
 Review
 Ask students what are the poetry they have already discussed.
B. Motivation

 The teacher will present a song “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”


 Ask the students what they have observed from the poem.

C. Presentation
 Show to the learners the slides containing different rhyme scheme commonly used in a poem.
 Discussion

D. Reading Activity
 Unlocking of Vocabulary
 Students will read the poem
 Recognize the significance of Rhyme Scheme in a poem.

E. Application
 The learners will be grouped into 5. They will choose their favorite song and write the lyrics in the
Manila paper.
 Students will determine the rhyme scheme used in the poem.
 Presentation of Output by Group.
 Peer-assessment of the other groups
 Processing of answers.

 What is the importance of Rhyme Scheme?

In the ½ sheet of paper the student will label a given poem using the rhyme scheme pattern.

 Create a brief 2 stanza poem. Choose any Rhyme Pattern that you prefer in writing the poem.
