CHAPTER I

PRELIMINARY

1. Background
Today the business world in Indonesia is undergoing very rapid changes, this can
be seen from the emergence of new businesses, ranging from businesses that start from
home to businesses that already have many branches in various places. In the development
of a home business in Indonesia, one business that is looked at by businesses is the
development of a culinary business that has a bright future to run because culinary is a
primary human need, and makes this business a very attractive business. So that this
phenomenon has made the flourishing business development in the culinary field lately.

If you observe the dynamism of the development of culinary business or food

business, many business people must be able to compete with other culinary business
people who run the same business. To win the competition, business people must have
competitive advantages owned by their companies in acquiring consumers and customers.
Competitive advantage is an advantage over competitors that is obtained by offering more
value to consumers, either through lower prices or by providing more benefits that support
by setting an expensive price.

This business is an activity that can get results in the form of profits, wages or
business profits and can improve a person's standard of living for the better. A business
entity that we run can produce profit or income as much as possible, we conduct a business
that is beneficial and profitable in living well-being. Many ways are done by someone in
starting or running business activities such as making their own products to sell. This
activity has many advantages compared to other business activities. In addition to products
that are sold more varied, this method is also easier to target profit with the total products
to be sold to consumers.

From the background explanation above, I am interested in conducting business

activities by using the product to be sold. In this case, the products we offer are market
