I. Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the student must be able to conceptualize, analyse and understand basic
feedback and control system concepts, including mathematical modelling of physical system, transfer
functions, pole-zero map, stability analysis, root locus, bode plots, compensators, PID controllers, and
introduction to state-space techniques. Topics also includes the discussions and theory related to basic control
systems composed of either electrical, mechanical, electronics, and/or combinations of different engineering
fields of specialization.

II. Guidelines and Class Policies


1. Turn your phone in silent mode during class hours.
2. During discussion, you are allowed to ask questions and share information.
3. Handouts will be provided, please take down notes. Taking of pictures is not allowed unless told to do so.
4. In case of absence when exercise is given, present medical certificates or letter from your guardian (valid
reason only) plus photocopy of their picture with signature to be able to perform same exercise.
5. If you will not be able to get an exam, present medical certificates or letter from your guardian (valid
reason only) plus photocopy of their picture with signature to be presented on the day you return to
school. No special exam will be given for quizzes only for major examination. Your score will depend on
the result of your next quiz. For major exams, your score on special exam will be deducted 10% to be fair
to those who will take the exam on schedule day.
6. During exams, ballpen, pencil, eraser and calculator are the only allowed items on your table. Borrowing
of any item is not allowed.
- All personal belongings especially cell phones, tabs and handouts must be placed inside your bags.
- Bags must be placed in front of our classroom.
- Going outside is Not Allowed once examination started.
- No one is allowed to talk with seatmates; raise your hand to call my attention.
- Anyone caught cheating will be considered Zero on that exam.
7. Test papers will be returned after it has been checked for you to re-check your own test paper. Correction
will be entertained within that day only.
8. Honesty is the Best Policy.
