The City Council enacted an ordinance to regulate and allow medical marijuana collectives to operate in the City and to provide
medical marijuana to members of these collectives under the voter approved initiative allowing medical marijuana. No collective
has been given a permit or license by the City to date. Three councilpersons: Gerrie Schipske, Pat O'Donnell and Gary DeLong
have introduced legislation to tighten up the regulation of these collectives BEFORE they open for business. Please read the
questions below and let me know your thoughts on this issue.

collectives from operating within 1,000 feet of parks, libraries and day care centers in addition to schools?

The current City ordinance concerning medical marijuana collectives requires that they grow the marijuana
being given to their clients within the city limits. This was recommended by the Chief of Police as a way of
limiting the trafficking of marijuana from out of the area. The current ordinance allows growing in retail
zoned areas. Should the ordinance be changed to require that growing marijuana can only be done in
industrial zones?
