INTRODUCTION

Indigenous media and information resource are information created by a local group of

people.In this study to widley understand and evaluate the acquired and shared

information, we are focusing on selected elders in our community, which we believed

that as a respected elder they have the responsibilities about disseminating and

acquiring different field of informations suitable for the needs of their members and as

also one of their daily basis.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate their role in the community by answering some

of our set questions that will only focus on identifying their roles as to what aspect of

informations that is widely available they are responsible for disseminating and how

they received and pass on to the community as an as indigenous communication.

II.METHODOLOGY

We conducted this research to evaluate and present the availability and ways of people

in our respective community to know how they disseminate different types of information

and the process behind it.

This method allow this material need to comply or to conduct a research. The process

on how the data was gathered and the type of method to be used in gathering this data.

Questionnaire/Guide Questions- Used in gathering information.

Ballpen and paper- used to take down notes on the interviewee

Cellular Phones- used for recording and documentary.

2.1.Subject Selection
We choose a person who knows the responsibility in the community to be the subject in

our research. The people that have different roles in our community milies to make a

better community. It includes sharing of information and development of he community.

2.2.COLLECTED DATA

In gathering data, we ask questions that are based on their real situations and that are

also relevant for our topic which is indigenous communication. The gathered information

were all written and documented by a transcripts.

: I am one of the fascilitators in our barangay during special

events only since Im old already, sometimes I do participate

in every meeting or activities that is regarding the welfare of Part in the Community

Commonly the type of information I am responsible for

disseminating and receiving is all about life matters,


sometimes when someone died in our barangay We, as

activities founded by the government for our barangay like

free haircut, free anti – rabies, relief goods. Others

The information that I have spread to everyone is also

know for them to be aware about the happenings in our

barangay and there will be no excuses at all. Example

about our recent activity coming from the barangay that

every household should plant 3 kinds of vegetables, 3 kinds

of spices, and 3 kinds of fruits that will be checked at the

end of the month(April 2019). Everyone was aware except

in some of our neighbors, so I hurriedly told them about the

activity and so they proceeded. The information was being

delivered through house to house.


4.How do you know that the information you pass on is

true?

- I spread information based on what me and my neighbors

actually sees in real life situations, I verified it by asking my

neighbors and the barangay captain if the certain news or

information is credible or not so that no one will fall to

different fake informations. Accurate information can be Accuracy and Reliability of

barangay captain or any barangay officials and I frequently

do that since our house is near to the barangay captain

house in our purok.

5.What difficulties do you face in passing on this

information to others?

-The difficulties in passing the information is that whenever

I take my time to verify the acquired information if it is true

or not to other members of the society is when someone

says no and others says yes it could be confusing and it

may really take time to verified it. Also when I disseminate

the information , there are times when others spread the

information that was coming from me ,they did not

V.CONCLUSION

Therefore, Indigenous media and information source has a great contribution not just for

a certain group of people but also to the people living in a certain type of community

either rural or urban areas that would highly acquired the information produced locally.

Also, for them to effectively understand the information, it is really the best option to

used indigenous media available in your place

Since our goal is to share a credible information for the development of

everyone, Indigenous media and information is a way of effective communication that

should be preserved for the next generation as a traditional way of communicating in

our local areas

Spreading important information could provide great access to open new

opportunities and improvement for both society and members as long as it follows the

right conduct of receiving and passing a complete and concise information.
