DC Shock
Monophasic Biphasic
Highest energy level 360 Joules Highest energy level 200 Joules

Decrease energy level,

decrease risk of burns and
myocardial damage
How to perform DC Shock ?
• Right Indication: pulseless VT dan VF
• Apply gel to surface paddle
• Select energy level (Monophasic 360 J or
Biphasic 200 J )
• Right placement and pressure to bare chest
• Charging
• “Attention !! DC shock !! I’m clear !! You’re
clear !! Everybody clear !! SHOCK !!”
• Discharge energy
Correct paddle placement

Now available in “almost” every airport in Indonesia

The steps to use an AED are as follows:

1. Open up / turn on the AED

2. Place pads on patients bare dry chest
3. Plug in the pads if applicable (some pads are already attached to the AED)
4. Press analyze button (some analyze automatically)
5. Have all people stand away from the patient
6. Shock patient if prompted by the AED
7. Check breathing and pulse when prompted by the AED
8. If no breathing and no pulse perform CPR between AED analyze cycles
9. Follow all prompts given by the AED
