reminder,'the'principles'for'the'UDL'are'representation'(the'“what”'of'learning),'expression'(the'“how”'of'
learning),'and'engagement'(the'“why”'of'learning).'Discovery'Education'is'a'great'tool'for'providing'multiple'
means'of'representation.'Information'can'be'displayed'in'word'form,'videos/photos/audio'can'be'added,'as'

complete.'I'will'introduce'this'lesson'by'questioning'the'students'how'they'might'find'the'center'of'a'given'
data'set.'I'will'also'mention'mean,'median,'mode,'and'the'measures'of'central'tendency'to'see'if'any'
students'have'heard'of'those'terms'before.'I'will'then'task'the'students'with'exploring'and'researching'what'
the'measures'of'central'tendency'are,'how'to'find'their'values,'and'to'create'their'own'example.'Students'
will'use'Discovery'Education'to'create'an'interactive'poster'of'the'information'they'found.'Once'students'
complete'their'interactive'poster,'they'will'get'into'groups'of'3?4'to'share'their'findings'and'also'write'a'a'few'
sentences'summarizing'what'each'of'the'measures'of'central'tendency'are.'Then'as'a'class,'we'will'compare'

and'an'example'with'a'set'of'data'that'they'created.'This'will'show'me'how'well'the'students'were'able'to'
research'so'they'could'use'this'poster'as'a'future'study'tool.'After'I'view'each'student’s'poster,'I'will'send'
each'poster'back'to'the'student'with'added'feedback,'notes,'comments'about'their'creative'poster,'notes'on'
if'corrections'need'to'be'made,'if'they'misunderstood'something,'etc.''If'I'notice'some'students'are'
struggling,'then'I'will'work'individually'with'them'for'a'few'minutes'to'help'them'research'and'also'provide'

students'usually'are'not'in'charge'of'their'learning,'but'rather,'they'always'have'to'listen'to'a'lecture'by'the'
teacher.'This'project'gives'students'a'break'from'the'traditional'lecture,'allows'them'to'be'creative,'and'puts'
them'in'charge'of'their'learning.'By'students'getting'this'opportunity,'I'believe'they'will'see'the'information'
as'more'relevant'to'them'and'be'more'motivated'to'complete'it.'Once'this'lesson'is'done,'it'can'then'be'
further'extended'into'how'we'find'other'measures'of'data,'such'as'the'range'and'the'inter?quartile'range.''
