What is VCH?
● Vietnamese Community Health is a non-profit
organization that brings free health services to the
underserved communities of Los Angeles and Orange
County
● Our mission is to break down barriers in healthcare by
providing critical health screenings to promote early
detection, health education, and preventative care
How We Serve the Community
● Quarterly Health Fairs
● Bi-weekly Health sites
● Various Special Health sites
○ Kids’ Carnival
○ Tet Festival
○ Shower of Hope
○ And more collaboration sites!
Health Sites
● Weeks 3, 5 (Sat & Sun), 6,
and 8

Services we provide:
● Hypertension, BMI, and
Vision Screenings
● Health Education for Patients

● Quarterly health fairs target
underserved populations
○ Santa Ana,
Westminster, Garden
Grove
● Most of our patients do not
have health insurance
and/or experience some
barrier to healthcare

○ CSULB School of Nursing

Mentorship & Academic Guidance

○ Get some advice and guidance or just a friend! :)
● Strengthen your bonds with VCH members and VCH
staff in our small families

Internship
● Develop invaluable professional & leadership skills
● Learn about the behind the scenes operations of VCH
● Organize your own fundraisers and events

Applications will be released later this quarter!


Community Service Hours
● Through VCH, you can log all of your community service
hours on myUCLA
● Those hours will be official and notarized on your
transcript for all employers and professional schools to
see your involvement
Membership Requirements
● No applications or fees
● Must purchase a VCH polo ($20)
● Active Membership Requirements:
○ 1 health/special site or 2 fundraiser shifts
○ Quarterly Health Fair
○ Half of the quarter’s general meetings (2 for Fall)
● Must be HIPAA certified
