Skills Analysis

For each section, you must consider what your strengths and weaknesses are based
off the previous few weeks (and anything you may have done prior to the course).

Camerawork I am good at including a range of camera shots and angles in my

work. I find it easy to convey my message through the use of
camera shots and movement, as well as how the shot is framed. I
am able to change the white balance settings on my camera to
suit the conditions of the environment I am filming in.
However I struggle to use the shutter speed on my camera to make
the image the best quality possible.
Editing I enjoy editing and can easily put together a series of clips to
create a final product that flows smoothly and makes sense.
However I do not know as much as I could about Premier Pro and
feel that my work is very limited. I cannot use or understand all of
the tools offered to me within the programme.
Idea When it comes to idea generation I am very creative but I
Generation sometimes struggle to come up with ideas on the spot. Often I have
to find a small idea and develop it as far as possible, I cannot
come up with a big idea in a short space of time.

Analysis While doing analysis I am able to make the links between what I am
watching and the meaning behind a piece. I can understand how
the different elements within a piece of film impact each other and
help the audience to understand the scene clearly.
However I struggle to find these elements myself while watching the
piece and find I cannot select the details to analyse.
People I work well in a team and find it easy to split tasks up so that a goal
Management can be achieved by a deadline. I also find I can listen to others
ideas and find a way to include them all to create the best possible
outcome.
Sometimes I find it hard communicate ideas that I have to others in
my team.
Time Keeping I can work well under pressure and meet deadlines. I find it easy to
stay on top of my work and arrive on time for lessons.
However sometimes I get distracted easily and find I waste time
that could be used more effectively on less important things.

Improvement To work on my weaknesses I aim to further my knowledge on

Plan camera work and editing so that I can create work to the best of
my ability. I also want to find a way that I can generate ideas easily
so that when working under pressure I can find something to work
on with ease, this would also help me to develop better time
keeping skills and prevent me from getting distracted as often.
