ABSTRACT

The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship among the

teachers’ self-efficacy, attitude, motivation and the Mathematics performance of

Grade 10 students in Lupon District. The researcher made use of the descriptive-

correlation design to investigate phenomena where respondents were selected

from the four secondary public school in Lupon district. There were four

instruments used in the study, the teachers’ self-efficacy scale, teacher’s attitude

scale, teacher’s motivation scale and Mathematics Achievement Test. The

respondents were selected using purposive sampling technique. Mean, Pearson

Product Moment Correlation and Multiple Regression analysis were used in the

analysis of data. Findings revealed that the manifestation of teacher’s

characteristics is high. Moreover, the overall level of students’ mathematics

performance was very low. Furthermore, teachers’ self-efficacy, teachers’ attitude

and teachers’ motivation have significant relationship with the mathematics

performance of the students. Nevertheless, the results of regression analysis

showed that the teachers’ self-efficacy and teachers’ motivation significantly

predict the mathematics performance of the students.
