Assignment title Understanding and developing project development and implementation

This unit provides learners with an opportunity to develop their project management and
research skills by developing a project where they plan and implement a new product,
service or process. Learners will need to demonstrate the ability to work independently and
provide evidence of an individual approach in their finished work. Learners will require close
supervision and organized tutor support in order to design the project which is realistic,
achievable and economically viable within the scope of the unit. Tutor approval should be
sought before learners begin the project.

You are required to select a feasible organisation for which sufficient information, data and
access is available. Further, suppose yourself employed as the Project Manager of the
company where you are asked to submit a report in board meeting comprising following
tasks on developing a project in which you plan and implement a new product, service or
process:

Task 1: Developing Project Specification


1.1 Analyse the factors that contribute to the process of project selection
1.2 Develop project specifications for the implementation of a new product, service or process

Task 2: Planning the Launch of the Project


2.1 Produce a project plan for your propossed project
2.2 Match appropriate resources to your project
2.3 Cost all resources required for implementing your project
2.4 Develop a timescales for the management and implementation of a project
2.5 Plan an appropriate strategy for the implementation of your project

Task 3: Implementing Your Project


3.1 Implement your project in accordance to the specification
3.2 Develop measures to monitor and evaluate progress and outcomes of your project
3.3 Monitor the implementation of your project

Task 4: Evaluating the Outcomes


4.1 Analyse the outcomes of your project in terms of the original project specification
4.2 Evaluate the outcomes of your project
4.3 Make justified recommendations for improvements to the project
