New Features in CADWorx 2019 SP 2

The latest CADWorx release delivers a number of significant new and extended
capabilities in response to current market requirements, as well as direct
feedback from the growing CADWorx. The following changes have been made
to CADWorx Suite.

CADWorx 2019 Service Pack 2

This user's guide has the following changes for this release.

What’s Changed in CADWorx P&ID 2019 SP2

• DM ‐ 30476: Line Number not inheriting. - Custom Instruments are now able to
inherit line numbers.
• DM ‐ 30477: Unable to select the component after stretch In 2019 SP2, users are
now able to select a component after applying the STRETCH command on the
component.
• DM ‐ 30478: Custom instr. using insert valve function should honor instruments
properties. - Users can now create custom instruments using the insert valve
function, honoring the out‐of‐the‐box instrument characteristics which gives
greater flexibility in defining custom instruments. Custom instruments do not
inherit values for size or spec when you specify INST as the Table Name when
creating an item under the valve section. Instruments created with INST table
name will be assigned a PID program code of 302 and have instrument
properties.
• DM ‐ 30479: Removing Links removes Link Information. - Removing links
between drawings will not cause issues like losing information associated with
components on process lines.
• DM ‐ 30480: Inserting Reducer causes LINE_NUM field corrupt. - Inserting a
reducer will not corrupt the Line_Num field of Valve and Orifice Pair.
• DM ‐ 30481: Removing Links breaks Process Line Functionality. - P&ID 2019
SP2 allows you to remove the links between drawings so that users do not need
to redraw the components. P&ID will retain the information on the process line
and its associated components.

“Code 1000 string shows corrupted data” on an instrument line after placing it in
a drawing.
• DM ‐ 30486: Cannot stretch tail end of line using grip. - Users can now stretch
the length of a process line using the grip at the tail end of the line.
• DM ‐ 30487: DBAUDIT Issue. - Running DBAudit will not return false errors, and
the user is able to open the edit dialog on all components.
• DM ‐ 30488: Reducer updates spec of tag incorrectly. - Tags update correctly
after inserting a reducer on a process line, in both imperial and metric unit
drawings.
• DM ‐ 30489: Size and spec of angle valve errors during the first insert. - The size
and spec properties of an angle valve will not show error after inserting on a
process line.
• DM ‐ 30615: Cannot select option for insert reducer with Japanese.dic. - Users
can select options in the command line when inserting a reducer with Japanese
language files.
• DM ‐ 30952: Multiline text not Syncing and is locking. - Now users should not
have to manually SYNC in BATTMAN for Blocks Multiline Text to word wrap.
Also, the text will not be locked so that the user is able to edit multiline text without
synchronizing the block.

attachments created prior to CADWorx Plant 2018, users encountered a loss of
the long description when exploding the block in CADWorx Plant 2019.

were getting an incorrect bolt length when placing a spectacle blind between
flanges, nozzles, and Equipment nozzles.
• DM‐30289: Change Size by manual option have the issue. - When running the
ChangeSize command in the manual mode, the pipe size could not be changed.
• DM‐30290: Eccentric reducer offset issue. - When a pipe was created from a
nozzle with a diameter different than the diameter of the nozzle and an eccentric

• DM‐30304: Unable to place a valve in size varying component. - Users were
unable to place a valve in size varying component with the error "Cannot find any
proper components to insert. Regenerating model." The valve should have been
placed with reducers on both ends.

while another dwg would result in the pipe support staying on the assigned color.
• DM‐30311: Issue with Graphics of Pipe Support Steel. - The graphics of a
variable length pipe support steel (Angle) were not displayed. The steel would
become visible when the pipe support was edited.
• DM‐30312: Piping Rules Not Applying to Reducers. - When adding a gate valve
to the middle section of a pipe, the pipe rules were not being applied. When the
same component was added to the end of the Pipe, the pipe rules would be
applied.

steel/concrete, it would not detect the concrete when placed.
• DM‐30886: Remove Temperature and Pressure Defaults from C2PCF Export. -
The C2PCF export was automatically populating a temperature (T1) and
Pressure (P1) value which would come through the PCF import as the CAESAR
II operating temperature and pressure. This required stress engineers to review
and most likely revise the temperature and pressure, which was not helpful/time
efficient. These two defaults have been removed from the export based on
feedback from users.
