SECTION:BSRT-52C ACTIVITY

It’s tempting to say that because technology itself has no morality, then there isn’t any moral
issue with the creation of any technology. If the technology can be used to make a profit it will. If it can
be used to the benefit of any entity that can use that technology it will do so. Some of those uses will
be immoral and unethical. It’s unwise to attribute morality or ethics to technology because it MUST be
humans that make moral or ethical decisions and only humans can take responsibility for those
decisions. Technologies and machines are incapable of being punished, or feeling regret or obligation,
or having any moral or ethical thoughts.

The national policies or laws that address the ethical and moral concerns in the technological
era arises, creating laws that would secure safety of the humanity, example of this is the RA 10844
which is an act creating the department of information and communications technology, defining its
powers and functions appropriating funds therefor, and for other purposes it is made because of the
moral and ethical issues that arises it stated that it should also “ensure the provision of a strategic,
reliable, cost-efficient and citizen-centric information and communications technology infrastructure,
systems and resources as instruments of good governance and global competitiveness.”

Ethical advances drive scientific progress. Likewise, scientific advances drive ethical progress.
They both tend to complement each other. One drives the other when there is an imbalance.Despite
the fact that we cannot really ignore that there are a number of ways in which technology negatively
impacts our society, for the better part it has greatly helped to make out lives better. Technology has
greatly helped us to become more efficient thus increasing our productivity. It has also helped us a
great deal to be able to save on many resources such as time and money and these are great benefits
that cannot be ignored. It has also worked well in bringing unity into the world by turning it into a global
village which has in turn helped people to more easily overcome their cultural, racial and continental
barriers.
