A STUDY ON GREEN BANKING PRACTISES IN SELECTED PRIVATE
SECTOR BANKS

INTRODUCTION

The concept of Green Banking is established in1980 from duch origin whivh started the
environmental sustainability in the banking sector from the very firsrt day. In the year
1990 the bank launches the green find for funding the environment friendly projects
Green banking is the term referring to practices and guidelines that make bank
sustainable in economic, environmental and sovial dimensions it aims to make banking
processand the use of IT and physical infrastructure as efficient and effective as possible
with zero or minimal impact on the environment
NEED FOR THE STUDY
1. To find out the impact of Green banking practices in private sector banks.

2. To crate awareness to business people about environmental and social responsibility

3. To enable them to do environmentally friendly business practice.

4.To adopt and implement the environmental standards.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

 Green banking restricts their business transactions to those business entities who
qualify screening process done by green banks.

 Many banks in green business are very new and are in startup face.

 Green banks require talented experienced staff to provide proper service to


customers.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

 To identify the various initiative taken towards green banking and


environment sustainability by banks
 To conduct swot analysis of green banking practice of the banks

 To evaluate the Green Banking performance of banks.

 To identify the steps necessary to adopt green Banking


 To check the awareness of green banking among bank employees.

 To create awareness about green banking among the employees

and bank
 To identify the problems and prospects of green banking activities
Research Methodology:
Sample size: The sample size consists of 100 respondents.
Sample unit: GREEN BANKING PRACTISES
Sampling method: Stratified convenient sampling.

Primary data will be collected through survey by means of questionnaire, personal
interview and observations.

A study will help the organization by the survey of 100 respondents , which
leads to measure the Green banking practice in selected private sector bank.

Statistical tools used for the are Bar graph & Pie Chart have been used to showcase
the graphical representation of the analyzed data. Hence, by this study organization
can easily understand the data and make the interpretation.
