Scrying with a Crystal Ball

Scrying: a process of using a the surface of a material object to activate clairvoyance.

Clairvoyance: seeing through spiritual senses the threads of reality, the past, the present, and
the becoming
The Becoming: in truth there is no set-in-stone future. The Becoming is the manner in which
the present is forming trends through all of our decision and events to move us forward

What you need:

1. A small dark cloth

2. A small white chime candle or votive candle and a holder for it
3. A crystal ball to which you are drawn
4. Mugwort or other herbs that stimulate clairvoyance
5. Spring water
6. A stand to put crystal ball on

Preparation:
1. Bring the spring water to almost a boil on the night of the full moon.
2. As soon as it begins to come to a boil, turn the water off, throw the herbs in, and cover
3. Let it steep until the water is completely cool
4. Take a white cloth and wash the crystal ball with the water.
5. Bottle the water and keep in a cool place for use later to cleanse the crystal ball
6. Take the crystal ball into your hands, held in the position of manifestation, and hold it
between your physical eyes and the full moon.
7. All the light of the moon to fill the crystal ball until it begins to glow.
8. Visual the light emanating through the crystal ball and entering into your third eye.
9. Visual and feel your third eye opening.
10. Call upon the Goddess to open your third eye and give you boon of scrying.
11. Chant Her Name several times out loud, then silently for a period of time.
12. Thank Her for Her boon.
13. Keep the crystal ball wrapped and out of the sunlight. Do not allow sunlight to come
into contact with it.

The Act of Scrying:

1. Cast a small working Circle. Call upon each element to bring the sight to you.
2. Call upon the Goddess to bless your working.
3. Place the stand on the table. Cover it with the dark cloth. Press the crystal ball into the
stand. Light the candle behind it. You should be able to sit in front of the crystal ball
without actually seeing the flame or candle, only the light that passes through the crystal
ball.
4. Focus your attention on the crystal ball. Breathe deeply and rhythmically. Repeat the
Name of the Goddess with each breath. Do not force yourself to see anything. Do not
attempt to see things in the occlusions of the crystal ball.
5. With practice, the crystal ball will become a hazing globe of light.
6. What you see will seldom be like watching a movie. It will be more a sequence of
shapes, symbols, feelings, impressions, images, almost like a dream state. With a great
deal of practice, the crystal may move toward actual projection of focal awareness to a
different location, but that will come on its own.
7. At first, do not attempt to interpret anything. Only observe and feel what happens. It is
best to make brief notes about your experiences.
8. After a period of practice, begin asking questions, directing your mind toward specific
issues, events, people, places, etc. You will see things through the signs, the symbols,
colors, impressions, feelings, etc. Do not be disappointed if you do not see anything like
a moving sequence of events.
9. It takes a bit of time and patience to begin interpreting the experiences with the crystal
ball. It speaks differently to each person.
10. At the end, wash the ball, recover it, and put it away.
11. Thank the Goddess, even if you do not feel very successful that night.
12. Thank the elements, even if you do not feel very successful that night.
13. Close the Circle.

End note: Keeping a written journal and observing the events of the following days will begin
to help you interpret specific meanings of the experiences. Follow your intuition, but always
use reason and discernment.
