Pack & Send Keeps on Delivering in the UK

PACK & SEND; the unique packing and shipping solutions business which launched i
n the UK at the start of last year, has announced stunning first-half financial
figures as it also secures its first London store.
Reading, England, November 09, 2010 -- PACK & SEND; the unique packing and shipp
ing solutions business which launched in the UK at the start of last year, has a
nnounced stunning first-half financial figures as it also secures its first Lond
on store. With franchising becoming an increasingly popular route for individual
s to own their own business, and a growing number of former corporate profession
als looking for such opportunities, PACK & SEND looks set to be delivering even
larger numbers in the months to come.
PACK & SEND opened their first ‘retail packing and shipping’ store in the UK at the
start of 2009 following 18 years of continuous growth in their home territory of
Australia. The franchise model developed to deliver that growth has created a d
omestic market leading business with stores now trading successfully in the UK a
nd New Zealand, and plans to open in Canada, Germany and Malaysia in 2011.
The Reading-based UK business has just seen their like for like turnover for the
first half of this financial year close over 100% up on the same period last ye
ar, and with improving margins, growing market share and increasing brand awaren
ess, it is no surprise that they are seeing high levels of enquiries about joini
ng the PACK & SEND UK franchise network.
With the current economic climate leading to increasing numbers of middle and se
nior managers finding their careers reaching a premature end, many are realising
that the dream of running their own business has now become a realistic option
open to them. For those who have made the decision to make a new start in busine
ss, but want the security and support of a proven business model behind them, fr
anchising is the obvious solution, and one that many are adopting.
The fact that PACK & SEND service a market niche that has virtually no directly
comparable competitors and that no store has ever failed in over 18 years puts t
hem high on the list of options for many candidates when it comes to selecting a
franchise partner.
PACK & SEND UK CEO, Mike Ryan is delighted with the first 18 months of trading. ‘A
ll our stores have hit the ground running with sales well ahead of expectations.
If anything, we seem to have underestimated the UK market!’
This bullish sentiment is further underlined by the Company’s well-developed plans
for its first store in London. Having recruited a local franchisee partner who
has already demonstrated a track record of success running a McDonalds restauran
t in London, PACK & SEND Kensington is due to start trading in January and will
help meet some of the demand for PACK & SEND services in the Capital.
PACK & SEND addresses real gaps in the packing and delivery market which has his
torically been a difficult environment to find easily understood and customer fr
iendly solutions.
‘If you have a fragile, large, awkward or valuable item for shipping’, continues Mi
ke Ryan, ‘then there are very few options available other than investing time and
money in personally accompanying the item from door to door - and this is rarely
practical or cost-effective. PACK & SEND can resolve the issue at a fraction of
the cost, and with the care and attention that you would give the goods if you
were transporting them yourself.’
‘We pride ourselves on superb customer service and will ensure that the PACK & SEN
D brand is a surety that this is the case in all our outlets across the globe’, su
mmarises Ryan. ‘Put simply, our business is prospering because our stores provide
the care and attention our customers demand when handling their possessions.’
PACK & SEND are planning up to 240 stores across the UK; many of which will be o
perated through a franchise license. Individuals interested in owning a PACK & S
END store can find more information at www.packsend.co.uk and anyone needing to
ship items (however unusual) in the UK or to anywhere else in the world can requ
est a quote online or call 0845 465 0 564.
