Dear Mr. Jay Moldenhauer-Salazar,

As a kid, I once managed to install the already outdated 1998 client for Starsiege:Tribes onto a hand-me-
down Toshiba laptop from the 90s using one of those little rubber nipples as a mouse (do those even have a
name?). That was my introduction to competitive gaming, and I miraculously loved it enough to carry on for
12 more years. A gamer first, I believe that my combined background in physics and music technology can
offer a dual-minded perspective, flexible skillset, and a thorough discipline for producing quality work as
your new VO designer.

I’ve since expanded my gaming portfolio. From helping manage an online community with multiple servers
for a Garry’s Mod…mod, to organizing smash tournaments and meet ups at my university, writing guides for
my favorite Dota 2 heroes (sorry), and meeting good friends through an Overwatch discord server, I’ve
always been attracted to the idea of gaming as a platform that brings people together. From roommate
Smash rivalries to massive professional esports events, building communities from seemingly disparate
connections is at the core of why I game. I take play seriously, because I take people seriously.

Much like my games experience, I have been involved in other team-based problem solving situations
throughout university. As a TA and tutor for Kalamazoo College's math and science help center, I was
responsible for engaging problems with people of varying skillsets and ideas; and learned the value in
having colleagues that can offer a fresh approach to a solution when my own is lacking.

At SF Conservatory, many projects involved handing off assets to peers in order for events like recording
sessions and concerts to run smoothly. This was valuable in becoming familiar with production pipelines. I
learned to always be thinking of the person after you in the overarching process, and to communicate
effectively with team members; confidently giving and respectfully taking feedback when needed to keep
things running smoothly, seeking only to understand and be understood.

Riot games is a company that takes gaming seriously, beyond mere play; That values criticism; That is
always striving to create the best player experience possible. As your new voice-over designer, I would be a
valuable team member to help power through creative problems, help synthesize the best solution from
multiple perspectives, and seek to understand and provide constructive criticism.

Sincerely,

Cody Mosblech
