Hypotheses

Based on the formulated specific question, the following hypotheses are

made:

1. Planning is an essential component of project management and the

biggest defense against cost overruns and delays. A well-developed

plan in place lowers the overall uncertainty and risks.

2. All contracts should contain the roles and responsibilities of your

subcontractor. Your expectations and project specifications need to

be outlined in the contract. Any terms and conditions should be

clearly defined and explained to the subs. Within this document, all

aspects of remuneration and payment methods are also to be

included.

3. To govern the level of success achieved, the measure of progress

attained is necessary. It is imperative to have quick access to all

relevant project information and summarized weekly project status

for informed decision making.

The study aimed to determine the causes of project delays in infrastructure

1. What is the profile of the construction firm in terms of:

a. Years of Operation,

b. Manpower size,

c. Types of Projects?

2. What are the degree of seriousness of the factors on the delays in

infrastructure construction in terms of:

a. Subcontractor Delays,

b. Shipping and Supply Delays,

c. Climate Delays,

d. Client-End Delays?

3. What valid action plan can be crafted to reduce the delays in

infrastructure construction? The input also includes the degree of

seriousness of the following factors in construction

Conceptual Framework

Infrastructure construction is a high-risk activity which must be

supervised and manage from the design until the construction stage of

infrastructure will end. Everyone involved in the construction project must

do their own role. Starting from the owner of the infrastructure until qthe

contractor up to the employees of the firm.

We all know that construction industry is one of the laborious,

Establishing proper communication between parties and improving

management methods is helpful way to complete a certain project on time.

Some of the projects are being delayed because of the different reasons

including Subcontractor Delays, Shipping and Supply Delays, Climate

Delays, and Client-End Delays.

A basic framework for the conduct of this is shown in the research

paradigm in an Input-Process-Output design.

The input of the study includes the profile of the different construction

firms in the City of San Fernando, La Union regarding years of operation,

manpower size, and types of projects. The input also includes the degree

of seriousness of the following factors causing delays in infrastructure

construction in different aspects Subcontractor Delays, Shipping and

Supply Delays, Climate Delays, Client-End Delays.

The process is carefully analyzes and evaluates the profile of the different

construction firms in the City Of San Fernando, La Union regarding of the

years of operation, manpower size, and types of projects. And
