Directions:
Step 1: Get 1/2 sheet of paper.
Step 2: In your paper, write your grade in Mathematics subject.
Step 3: Pass your paper to your classmate on your right side.
*The keyword is 'pass'.
Step 4: Write your grade in Math on the paper given to you by your classmate.
*Step 3 and 4 will go on until the paper return to its owner.
Step 5: Add or Sum up all the grades which you and your classmates wrote on your paper.
Step 6: Count the number of grades written on you paper.
Step 7: Divide your answer in Step 5 by your answer in Step 6.
*Mean-O is the answer in Step 7.

C. Lesson Proper
Mean - is the sum of measures x divided by the number (N) number of measures in a given data.
Formula: x = Σx where:
N x = symbol for mean
Σx = the summation of x
N = number of values of x

*The example is taken from the data of "Finding Mean-O".

D. Application
a. The scores of a basketball player in his 10 games are 26, 30, 28, 28, 33, 29, 32, 26, 27
and 31. What is the mean score of the player?

Solution:
x = Σx
N
x = 26+30+28+28+33+29+32+26+27+31
10
x = 290
10
x = 29
Hence the mean score of the player in his 10 games is 29.

IV. EVALUATION
a. Straw Hat Pirates received a challenge from another group of pirates for one on one fight.
The Straw Hat crew of nine (9) members are eager to accept the challenge. To be fair to all,
they've decided to choose a person whose age is the mean age of the nine (9) members.
1. What is the mean age of the straw hat crew?

Solution: x = Σx
