A job interview is when the person who wants a job meets with the person or company that is hiring someone
for the job. Before an interview, there are some important steps to follow to make sure the interview goes well.
Getting Ready for an Interview
There are many things that people should do to get ready for a job interview. The first thing is to make sure that
their resume is updated, or current, and has no mistakes. A resume is a piece of paper that lists peoples' skills,
or what they're good at, and their experience, or what jobs they have had. A resume lists what jobs people have
had, and what they did at those jobs. It also lists all the schools they went to, including high school, college, and
other schools and training. A resume has the person's name, address, and phone number on it. Many people
bring two or three copies of their resume to an interview.
It is also important to make sure that the applicant, or person applying for the job, has a list of references.
References are usually people that the applicant knows very well or has worked with before. References can
talk to the company about the skills and experience of the applicant.
People often write down a list of questions they have about the job and the company before the interview. They
also write down answers to questions they think the person at the company may ask, such as questions about
skills that are important to the job.
The Interview
A job interview is a time for the people at the company and the applicant to get to know each other. It is a time
for the interviewer, or person doing the interview, to see if the applicant is a good match for the job and the
company. It is also a time for applicants to decide if they like the company and if the job is a good match with
their skills and experience.

* get enough sleep the night before * put your hands

Questions at the Interview
Interviewers will want to know why they should hire the applicant. They will ask questions about work the
applicant has done before. They might also ask why the applicant left their last job.
The interviewer may also ask questions about special skills the applicant has and how these skills will help with
the new job. Applicants should listen carefully to questions and take their time when answering. If an applicant
does not understand a question, it is okay to ask the interviewer to repeat the question or to make the question
clearer.
It is also important for the applicant to ask questions. These questions can be about the job and the company.
Many applicants ask questions that show their interest in the job and how much they want to learn.
After the Interview
It is important for applicants to send thank-you notes to the people they met during the interview. In these notes,
they can write about their interest in the job and the skills they can bring to the job. At the end of a thank-you
note, people often say that they will contact the company in a few days to find out what is happening with the
job. Companies want workers who show that they are interested and who do what they say they will do.

Workers Comp, OSHA, Payday--Comprehension Test Answers.

When people work in a job, they have certain rights. Rights are things that the company or government must
give to workers. These rights help protect people, or keep them safe. Some rights are workers
compensation, OSHA, and payday.
Workers' Compensation
Sometimes people hurt, or injure, themselves at work. This is called a work-related injury. Sometimes people
get sick from the work they do at their job. This is called a work-related illness. When people hurt themselves
or get sick at work, they might not be able to work for a while.
When this happens, workers have a right to workers' compensation. Workers' compensation is money given
to the hurt or sick worker. Another term for workers' compensation is "workman's comp." People can use their
workers' compensation money to visit a doctor. They can also use the money for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation
is the treatment people get when they have hurt themselves.
Workers' compensation also includes lost wages, or the money people lose when they have to stop working
because of a work-related injury or illness.
OSHA
The letters O-S-H-A stand for Occupational Safety and Health Administration. This is a part of the U.S.
government that makes sure that workers do their jobs in a safe and healthy place. Workers have a right to work
in a good, clean place.
OSHA has standards to make sure companies keep workers safe. Standards are a set of rules that companies
must follow. To make sure that companies follow the rules, OSHA sends inspectors to company buildings.
Inspectors are people who look at how well companies are following the OSHA standards. These standards
keep workers safe and healthy.
Payday
People have a right to be paid for their work. Workers get paid on payday. Most people get a paycheck, which
is a piece of paper that shows the amount the person is paid. Many people bring their paycheck to the bank and
deposit (put) the money into a bank account.
Payday is different for different companies and jobs. Some workers are paid every week, and other workers are
paid every other week. Some workers are paid each month.
