Socio-political dynamics pf judaism

The jewish concepts of leadership based on the old testament direct us to certain types
of leadership one of whic is kingship as the ideal form of kings. This can be deduce
from the chronicles of the king of Israel and in Judah, as well as in the Book
Deutorenomy, which stated " let me put a king over me like all the nations that
arounds me" In relation to the idea of kingship. The concept "covenant" between the
ruler and the ruled is equally important as well in Judaism. Thus, socio political
dynamics can also described as following the model of tribal federation in which
various tribes and institutions shared political power. Although they practice
communial living there were certain people who hold important position sush as
rabbi who fucntion as a teacher and interpreter of the Jewish law and customs.

Sacred scriptures
The jewish people have been called the "people of the book" in reference to Hebrew
bible ( Tanakh or Mikra) hebrew bible divided into three sections
1- TORAH- literally means "teaching or law" and is composed of five books and
authored by Moses. These includes Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and
Deutorenomy. Sometimes this torah called Pentateuch.Apart from containing basic
laws for Jewish self-understanding,Pentateuch also narrates the history, religious,
statues and moral regulations for individual and societies.
2- Nev'im - which means prophets.is subdivided into Earlier prophet and later
prophet, and twelve minor prophets.Prophets served as spokesperson who criticize the
hypocritical practices of jewish rituals.
3- Ketuvim- which means Writings. This third section of tanakh that contains the
works on poetry, timple ritual, private prayer, philosophical explorations and other
canonical works.
Another sacred writings of Judaism is the Talmud ( or the "oral torah") which means
study. All studies and interpretations done by Jewish rabbis or Teachers of the torah
are contained in the Talmud. Inshort the Talmud is the authorative collection of
rabbinic interpretations of the second scriptures.Around the second century this oral
law was compiled and written down as MISHNA or a restatement of the law by a
respected opinion.
