Today we are going to talk about "If you could travel

anywhere where would it be?"

Although there are many interesting places in the world I would want to travel,
Italy is on my top list. Italy is one of the most romantic countries in the world and is a top
romantic vacation destination.Among all the Italy's cities, I would like to choose Rome as
my first destination. Rome is undoubtedly one of the famous places in Italy that cannot be
missed out. Rome is full of history everywhere we look. It has many ancient monuments,
interesting medieval churches, beautiful fountains, museums, and Renaissance palaces.

Another nickname for Rome is "Eternal City". Eternal means "continuing forever
or indefinitely" . It was so called because the Roman people thought that no matter what
happened to the world, no matter how many other empires might rise and fall, Rome
would go on forever.

Rome has an incredible number of world-class attractions too. Firstly, the

Colosseum in Rome is one of the most dramatic sights in Rome (especially at night), but
we need to tour its interior for a revealing look into the history of this two-thousand year
old venue. It was designed to hold more than fifty thousand spectators while the lions and
gladiators did their work, the arena once had a cover that could be extended to provide
the spectators relief from the sun on hot summer days.

The Roman and Imperial Forums mark the historical center of the city and contain
the ruins and remnants of the grandeur of the Roman Empire. St. Peter's Basilica, the
centerpiece of the Vatican, is one of the most stunning architectural accomplishment in
Rome. The Trevi Fountain, largest and world well-known fountain, is celebrated for its
beauty and the legend that if you toss a coin into its waters you will be guaranteed a
return to Rome.

Museums are the city's strong suite, but the museums dedicated to the history of
Ancient Rome, as well as to the arts are the most acclaimed. We might want to spend an
afternoon visiting a few of Rome's many churches, as they often are incredibly beautiful
and endowed with stunning art and architecture. In addition to the masterpieces they
contain, these areas usually are surrounded by good quality restaurants, fine shopping,
and gelato shops are usually easy to find. Modern Rome is a bustling and lively city and
has some excellent restaurants and nightlife.

the end. Before ending, let me introduce some interesting facts regarding Italy.
Archimedes ,Galileo Galilei, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo are some of the scientists
in Italy. Besides, Italy is famous for its sports cars (Ferrari, Lamborghini), and for the
Vespa motor scooter. Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet was set in Verona, Italy.
