 Course Objectives
To appreciate why KM is necessary and
important
To understand KM concepts, principles,
strategies and tools, and their underlying
paradigm shifts
To learn and practice a KM tool in one’s
workplace

 Policies
All submissions must be in soft copies (hard copies waste
paper and trees!).
File naming of submissions: “file name YOURSURNAME”
Examples:
Summarization DE LA CRUZ.docx
Practicum Presentation DUTERTE.pptx
Practicum Report SANTIAGO.docx
If you are late, you can enter in the middle of the lecture
and take your seat (I won’t mind).

Most important factor in your final grade: your workplace KM
practicum (your boss’ emailed feedback to me at the end of
the semester is the biggest factor).
If you are not employed or you are self-employed, or if you
are in the process of changing jobs, tell me and I will select
a special practicum or topic for you.
You can call, email or text me any time. Start your email
subject line with “TM 298 – “

2 summarizations: book chapter or article on practicum topic

 Course Requirements
To be submitted: summarizations (<3 MS Word pages each),
Internet research (Ppt presentation and <5 MS Word pages),
report on practicum (Ppt presentation) and practicum
manual/guide (<10 MS Word pages)
After using a Quick Business Process Assessment (QBPA)
Form business process, topic of workplace practicum must
be approved by your superior
Internet access and email address: submissions by email (no
hard copies please), check course website and my blog site
regularly, join/participate the class website (Google Site),
join K&P e-group at end of semester

 First Assignments
Get a Gmail address if you have none and use it to inform
me. You need a Google Account to access our course
website which runs in Google Sites.
Go to Discussion #1 in our course website. Answer the
question “What factors, conditions, people or things help
your team do its job well?” Answer using bullet points of
words or short phrases.
Email me a good shoulder-length picture of yourself and
answer Discussion #2 with a bullet list of your talents
both technical and non-technical.
Download the Student Data Sheet, fill it up and email it to
me.
