In case of SQL Server on the same server as X3 Application / Main Runtime, have you specified a
maximum memory size for SQL Server so it does not "eat up" all memory resources?

Think about network backbone congestion caused by factors external to Sage ERP X3 if this is a
multi-tier installation.

On Windows servers you can use the performance monitor to log CPU, memory and I/O activity.
On Linux / AIX servers you can use the following utilities to monitor a lot of items: top, sar, iostat,
vmstat
If virtualized, you may query the usage statistics at the hypervisor level.
If you use a high-end SAN, you may be able to gather I/O and throughput statistics for the SAN
LUNs underlying your servers' storage.
