REFLECTION

Worst
My worst experience during math 122 is that I didn’t prepare myself for an examination and also I
forgot to bring my scientific calculator and I almost miss that exam. And after that incident I promise to
myself that I would be a responsible student.

Best
The best experience in math 122 is that my instructor is giving her best to share her knowledge to us.
Today, I learn a lot and my knowledge grow more because of my instructor, she teach us a lot of
techniques and also she is giving us practice exercises so that on our future journey we know already
what to do. In every meeting, she gave us a little discussion and after that she is giving us practice
exercises which is very good for me because it enhances our skills in math. Math subject is not hard if
you practice doing it. One of my best experience during math 122 is the oral exam, that you have to
defend your answer that was being asked by your instructor, and I was lucky because I am not prepared
for that but I am able to answer that question and my instructor told me “very good”. It was one of the
great experience I’ve ever had.

Application
Math 122 is very helpful in my profession, because of math I can calculate the problem and also my
knowledge about math can help because seafaring is one of the risky job. Soon if I became an officer,
math can help me because if you know how to solve problems and it can save life. Example if you are
assigned to have a deck watch and your captain ask you to do the passage planning which is very
complicated. If you have enough knowledge about math you can save lives because of your knowledge
you know already what is the basic math calculation.

“My Overall Learnings on Information Communication Technology”

Information and communication technology is a system used to control and

manage information through telecommunication technology and computers.
ICT has a big impact in our society today it helps people developing
education, it is helpful for the educators because it helps the work more
simple and because of ICT it helps to make the work efficient.
In this subject, our instructor helps us to familiarize the basic parts of
computer and how it works. We are also exposed in the laboratory to do the
task such as documents on board ship. They also introduced the Microsoft
word and also its different functions and through Microsoft word it helps us
to discover more functions and by exploring on it you will learn its parts and
also its different functions. In Microsoft Excel it is also helpful for me
because you will have to enter the data then after that there is already a
result, example of it if you are typing numbers and you have to know what is
the total of it, you will just have to click the formula bar to know what is the
total of it. One of the examples was the Imo Crewlist and the Maritime
Declaration.
For me, being involved in this kind of activity is very important as well as it
could be useful in choosing this profession. On behalf of my instructor on
ICT111, Thank you sir for teaching us and we are sorry for the bad attitude
sometimes. I learn a lot of this subject not just how to do documents
onboard but also your words of wisdom, we will always remember your
words. Attitude is one of the key towards success. I will always remember
that word and also I will apply my knowledge onboard prior to the profession
I’ve taken.
