RITEMIX AS
Anti-Shrinkage Powder Admixture

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
RITEMIX AS is a chloride free admixture in powder
form. It is added at the rate of 6% by weight of cement
to produce a flowable, pumpable, nonshrink non-
segregating, impermeable grout, providing high
strength and high bond to steel. The most important
property RITEMIX AS imparts to grout is the ability to
protect cables against corrosion from aggressive
agents and stress.

Compatibility
RITEMIX AS is compatible with Portland cement and
hydraulic binders, including ground blast furnace slag,
fly ash, and hydrated lime.
DOSAGE
Typical addition levels are 6 – 15 % on the cement
weight. Expansion and reduced shrinkage are
proportional to the addition level. It is highly
recommended that laboratory trials should first be
carried out to determine the correct addition level of
RITEMIX AS.
Too high an addition level of RITEMIX AS will result in
extremely strong expansion, with reduced strength,
high porosity and reduced frost resistance.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Introduce approximately 25 liters of water per 100kg of
cement into the mixer.
Start the mixer and RITEMIX AS (6% by the weight of
cement) followed by the cement. Mix for 3 minutes
until a plastic and homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Add approximately 7 liters of water and mix for a
further 2 minutes until the grout is flowable, without
lumps and the flow cone empties in approximately 20
seconds. If a high speed mixer is used (about 1500
r.p.m.) the total mixing time can be reduced from 5 to
3 minutes. The amount of mixing water necessary by
weight of cement and RITEMIX AS is approximately
34% but can range from a minimum of 30% to a
maximum of 38% depending upon the cement used.
Finely ground cement usually requires a higher
amount of water. The grout thus obtained can
generally be pumped for at least 2 hours, unless the
cement used shows a rapid or false set.
PACKAGING
RITEMIX AS is available in 20 kilogram / bag.
STORAGE
RITEMIX AS has a minimum shelf life of 1 year when
stored in the original unopened containers under
normal warehouse conditions.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Refer to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
 Use a stainless steel or iron agitating blade. Do
not use an aluminum blade because hydrogen
gas generation could occur and subsequently
lead to explosions when mixing the mortar
 Mix grouting material with the specified quantity
of water. Using other quantities of water may
affect the performance of the non-shrinking
mortar
 Use fresh water that does not contain oils, salts,
or organic compounds
 Before beginning injecting work, optimize the
quantity water in mixing trials and remove oily
residues, laitance, and mud from the surface of
structure
 Protective gear (goggles, mask, gloves, and
rubber boots) should be worn during handling
 Do not dispose of RITEMIX AS in drains
