Case Study 1: SCHIZOPHRENIA

Murukash is a 32 year old unmarried male; he was very angry and disorganized. He was
having a job of silver ornaments making. He has an elder brother, as the job was done by
brother and himself together. When he came to visit he the doctor he was unhygienic, the
patient got some kind of germ inside his body which made create some itching problem in his
body. The patient doesn’t make any eye contact while communicating with doctor. Murukash
was not very god in studies. He studied till 8th STD. He usually drinks and smokes. Due to
the inability to study forwarded Muraksh stared work with his brother.

For the past few years Muraksh was unable to concentrate in work, as he was only. As in the
working area Muraksh was showing some unacceptable behavior. He started saying things
which was not even connected to each other. As Murukash started doing some things which
was inappropriate to the society as in talking language was abusive especially to girls.

Murukash started some habits as in sitting alone and getting angry. He frequently started
hearing voices which says him to do some things as to drink and smoke. He tried to cut his
hand with some weapon some months back at home, as there was no reason of why he did
that. In his family no one has any such disorder or mental illness.

While he was admitted to the hospital, the psychiatrists gave him an injection as to make his
body came and to reduce anger. The injection was given twice a day.
Case 2: Conduct Disorder

Surumi was a muslin girl 20 years old .She has one elder brother who is currently working in
abroad. She was very good in studies and has completed her 12th std. She was coming from a
poor family. When she came to visit doctor she was very angry and was trying to destroy
nearby objects and would attack nearby people. She doesn’t have any job. Surumi was
proper dressed.

Surumi doesn’t have any medical illness, and no past history of medical illness. Her birth and
development was normal. She has lack of sleep, destruction of property and aggression to
people. For the past five months she has showing most of the symptoms which made her
parents to bring her to hospital. Surumi has been studying now, but because of the changes in
her to the society she was forced to discontinue education.

While Surumi came to visit doctor, she frequently says that she needs to go to home. When
doctor used to go for rounds in wards to see her she used to show aggressive behavior to her
mother and will try to destroy nearby property. While in her mind she hates men.

She was admitted to hospital for 14 days as she slowly showed improvement in her behavior.
She was given behavioural therapy and family members were given an family therapy to the
insight to the disorder.
Case 3: Autism

Abe is a 5 yr old boy who is coming from a lower class family. He is the only child. His
father has passed away in accident. His mother was having daily wages job as maid. He came
to visit with his mother and mother’s sister to doctor. He was having normal in studies, as he
was studying in first STD. He showed some problem in studying too. He was normally
dressed as showed some symptoms of behavior problems at first sight.

Abe has got some developmental delays in walking, as he started walking late. And Abe’s
mother has got a high fever, which made to have some complications while pregnant. Abe
doesn’t make any eye contact to doctor’s question. Abe would turn his face when asked a
question. He also didn’t answer to small numbers question.

He had symptoms of absent social smile and lack of eye-to-eye-contact. Abnormal speech
patterns and content was present. Presence of echolalia as of saying he needs to catch
something almost all the time. Most of the behavior changes occurred after the death of his
father. It’s been few years that father has passed away. Almost all the time he will be walking
in circle and doing some action with hands.

Abe was then directed towards child behavior modification group. In behavior assistant Abe
was given in speech and behavior therapy for some weeks. The treatment later was schedule
to next month.
Case 4 : Borderline Personality Disorder

Shaumnad a man who is 38 yrs old unmarried man. He was chronically unemployed because
of his unsteady in behavior as in difficult in controlling anger. He had feelings of emptiness,
abandonment issues while working in a company as well as at home. He has one elder
brother and one younger brother. His elder brother and one cousin came to visit doctor. He
was dressed normally. His faced was depressed when he came to visit doctor.

His birth was normal. He was taken to another hospital as for recovery of his behavior
problems, but he was not any improvements. The behavior changes has been seen for 5 and
half years. He had attempted for suicide twice before while he was at home few years back.
In his working environment he showed less interest in making friends from the social circle,
as he was unstable in social relationships. He also had threats as to injure himself and objects
in anger. He had emotional instability as resulting in anger outburst without a perfect reason.

As most of the criteria were meet for Borderline Personality Disorder. Pharmacotherapy was
used to lower the anger in the patient. Psychotherapy won’t work perfectly with BPD
patients. He was admitted and given pharmacotherapy with counseling .
